Nothing wrong with coming from a council estate, I lived on one myself for most of my childhood. But she didn't get where she is now on talent or charisma so old Vargener hit the nail on the head with that one, oy finks.

I think she did though - talented enough to be chosen - charisma enough to go far. Fame is all luck now though - plenty of talent out there.

Did he not mean it as an insult? Did she take it as one?

I'm from a council estate, don't care who knows it but am I lucky ? No, I worked my arse off to get where I am (which isn't that marvelous anyway), Cheryl has worked hard too, luck doesn't come into it.

She heard that he said that she was just a council estate girl that got lucky. He reckons he was misquoted as he actually said that she should be a role model for other girls on council estates or something.

I reckon he got misquoted. He seems too dense to be properly malicious and I suspect a press smear campaign cos the Billy Englanders who buy their shitty papers won't want a dirty forriner winning the most important contest in England

Cheryl is pretty..she can't really sing...she has a strong peronality...I could be talking about a mllion girls on council estates today..she got lucky.

I thought Cheryl was out of order berating him live on the show, this could easily have been sorted backstage and I thought he handled it really well.

Cheryl has drive and that's what it's all about, the people I meet who are well off, good jobs, lovely homes, great jobs are no better or intelligent than my relatives who never have a pot to piss in, but they are driven.

She didn't just get lucky, she made some shrewd career moves.

No one is that successful by luck alone.

I think she's the best mentor as well. Just because she's a stunningly beautiful clothes horse, doesn't mean she hasn't got some talent tucked in there. (Although I do think she's better at managing other acts, than singing herself - god her music is painful.)

But she does have charisma. She's not the best singer, but she is very good on the X factor imo and the contestants in her group tend to do well.

It sounds like Wagner was trying to make out her opinion isn't important because she comes from a council estate which is a disgusting attitude. I suspect she was angry and lashed out at him.

My view of Cheryl is of someone who has a good heart but who does also have a temper. On that PM show she explained that she had been brought up to defend herself when under attack.

I do think that a lot of women are jealous of her (understandably) and would prefer to just think she's horrible but for what I've seen of her that doesn't fit.

She's been a shitty mentor this series, by all accounts. Giving her undivided to Cher(yl) and swanning off to L.A to see her boyfriend. Then refusing to vote. I hope she gets booted off next series. I'd like to see Wagner in her seat, that would really piss on her chips.

FWIW, I liked her in the first series, hell I even went to see Girls Aloud live last year but she's started to believe her own hype and seems like she's disappeared up her own arsehole.

Yes, she's beautiful, yes she's loaded. But to be jealous of someone for that seems a bit shallow. I tend to be jealous of women who can make perfect pastry or can knit a lovely cardi up but that's probably just old age setting in :)

Bah. It's all manipulation by the X Factor production team. Judges are mean to Wagner and pretend to be pissed off that he's going through. Public vote for him out of sympathy/to antagonise Simon Cowell. Most of the contestants are so blah that no-one would otherwise be bothered to lift the phone.

Agree that Cheryl came across as petty tonight. Even my DH said he thought she was wrong to say what she did and he loves her.
