is anyone else unbearably irritated by this program? I run for the remote as soon as it starts, even my DC aren't keen on it thankfully for my ears.
Is it a complete BBC flop? Bring on more Charlie and Lola and less of the Zingcrap.

My DTDs love Zingzillas I was singing along to the radio in the car the other day, and DTD1 said I was "nearly good enough to be in the Big Zing". Praise indeed.

nextafternursing · 26/07/2010 22:40

YANBU. Crap. And it seems to be on several times in a morning. Obviously my DCs don't watch any tv but it is like a crap rip off of speace pirates IMHO.

Shaz10 · 26/07/2010 22:40

I hate it but my 12 month old loves it

Am I the only one who sings that line "Making love ZingZilla style"? Have yet to work out what that style is.

Shaz10 · 26/07/2010 22:41

I think that The Bopps on Nick Jr might be worse though.

tribble · 26/07/2010 22:41

But that was the best zing ever!

Onestonetogo · 26/07/2010 22:43

Shaz, your DC is only a baby, seize control of the remote for the sake of your sanity

Is it made by the same team that concocted the truly dreadful Space Pirates?

chocolatefroggie · 26/07/2010 22:43

YANBU aargh my head hurts just thinking about it!

funkychunkymunky · 26/07/2010 22:44

My DD 9months loves it! It's better than Waybaloo...

Glitterknickaz · 26/07/2010 22:47

I want to hunt them down with a twelve bore. YASoooooSooooooooNBU.

DS2 is Autistic and very echolalic, so not only do I have to endure the episode itself but then DS2 does it on loop repeat throughout the rest of the day.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

CiderIUp · 26/07/2010 22:47

Hmm - see I quite like it, for the sole reason that it keeps DD quiet for a few peaceful minutes. I find the theme tune relatively inoffensive (if catchy). I don't actually watch it, after 3 long years of CBeebies I have finely honed my tuning out skills.

meltedchocolate · 26/07/2010 22:47

I hated it originally but have sort of grown..... comfortable?? with it... I DO like that they introduce musical instruments and tell the kids all about it and what a duet is etc.... if only they would get rid of the annoying monkies and the crap story lines

scrappydappydoo · 26/07/2010 22:48

Oh the Bopps - my dds love that - I did have to laugh the other day when they were singing a song with a bunch of stage coach kids and even they looked bored and fed up...
I don't mind zingzillas too much - although I hate how they have overact everything - all the arm flinging does my head in

Onestonetogo · 26/07/2010 22:49

GuntherMcKilocodie, not sure but it would make a lot of sense. What an extravagant waste of BBC money to produce such unwatchable shows.

meltedchocolate · 26/07/2010 22:49

funky...... but I love Waybaloooooooooooo

ReshapeWhileDamp · 26/07/2010 22:49

DS loves it (after getting over a rocky period when he thought all the Zingzillas were scary) so I tolerate it. But the repeat rate is terrible! I swear we've seen the Julian Lloyd-Webber one five times now. The Big Zing tunes are horribly catchy and I find them going through my head while driving.

I hate Tang though. He has a horrible whiny voice and always seems to be patronising the others.

Onestonetogo · 26/07/2010 22:53

Reshapewhiledamp, your in-depth knowledge of the characters is embarassing

Glitterknickaz, I feel your pain!

YANBU

like tweenies having mated with annoying monkeys

there has got to be a less awful way to introduce kids to music

and i could handle space pirates (just not first thing in the morning)

Glitterknickaz · 26/07/2010 22:56

Thanks Ostg!
It's over and over and over again.... urgh

Shaz10 · 26/07/2010 23:00

Litter, litter, litter, why not pick it up and put it in.....

DorotheaPlenticlew · 26/07/2010 23:00

I don't much care for the girl one being all pink with a bloody tutu or whatever it is she wears -- why? Only seen it once or twice, as DS is unbothered by it. His heart belongs to Everything's Rosie at the moment (and 64 Zoo Lane, which is the grand passion of his life so far).

I see it as different to Space Pirates because the budget is obviously a lot higher. Think SP was bargain basement and ZZ is semi-flagship programming, no? Must cost a fair bit to make.

SwansEatQuince · 26/07/2010 23:02

YANBU.

I hate them with a passion. And now the bloody tune is stuck in my head.

SolidGoldBrass · 26/07/2010 23:02

I loved Space Pirates (not least because of my, erm, possibly inappropriate interest in Captain DJ), but find Zingzillas odd and irritating too. Far too many repeats, incoherent and fuckwitted storylines, and I hate the way the female characters are so ickle and squeeeeeeeeaky!

Hate it, think girl character Panzee displays mannerisms that are those of a much older person e.g. the way she dances is a bit much for a program targeted at 0-5 year olds so DD not allowed to watch it. Want DD to be a kid as long as possible and not buy into to this fame game nonsense that fills the head of most older kids these days. Shame really because I like the idea of puppets and teaching music, like the Muppets and Sesame Street era. Don't like Dirt Girl World for this same reason. DD only likes opening music of Waybuloo then gets bored and wanders off. If you want something to keep em busy (for 23 mins) try My World Learning Shapes DVD (is for autistic children, but DD 13 months loves it), DD can now say Circle (Kirkle), Square (Skare), and Triangle (Gugul) and recognises the words as well as the shapes, points out circles everywhere we go! Must warn you though that it is very annoying so you may need ear plugs in return for a bit of time to read the paper as like DD once they have seen it all you will hear is KIRKLE, KIRKLE, KIRKLE!
