is anyone else unbearably irritated by this program? I run for the remote as soon as it starts, even my DC aren't keen on it thankfully for my ears.
Is it a complete BBC flop? Bring on more Charlie and Lola and less of the Zingcrap.

tortoise we have had that same discussion, alternating with the 'are they a couple in RL' discussion.

latrucha · 27/07/2010 14:17

Mixedmama - Andy rules. Never have I seen a man so committed to his job. Sid is the eye candy.

cg007 · 27/07/2010 14:23

Zing Zillas is awful. I think programme makers forget that often the most entertaining kid's tv is watching other children doing normal stuff - we used to love 'Take a Bow', which showed other children dancing, performing or playing music (some more endearing and talented than others). And I think 'Show Me, Show Me' works because of Chris and Pui's gentle and easy going TV personas - no manic gurning like 'Mister Maker' or fake enthusiasm like the woman on 'Same Smile'. I like the guy on 'Bits and Bobs' though. And Sid...mmmm.

pitterpatterfeet · 27/07/2010 14:23

YABU! They always have top musicians on it!! WE've been known to watch it when ds is sleeping!

StrictlyTory · 27/07/2010 14:27

Zingzillas = Hell.

Same Smile = Makes me want to do bad things to those pandas tbh, I HATE the nasal singing of the presenter. Always turn it off.

I just want Postman Pat, the real version not the overly PC crazy version where as DH pointed out, Pat would clearly be sacked as he cannot deliver one pathetic parcel without a huge c**k up needing the use of a frigging helicopter!

Oh and Thomas the Tank Engine. Or some Angleina Ballerina, programmes with real stories! AND NO PRESENTERS!

purplefeet · 27/07/2010 14:34

I don't get Zingzillas, are they supposed to be children at some sort of music school and the one that looks like a womble is an old guy who looks after them??

It SHOULD be a good programme - teaching kids about different instuments and styles of music.

DS aged 2.7 doesn't like it, so I don't have to suffer it.

He askes for Numberjacks over and over, which I quite like.

purplefeet · 27/07/2010 14:35

instruments

CiderIUp · 27/07/2010 14:39

Chris and Pui are on NOW !!

plantsitter · 27/07/2010 14:46

I find Zingzillas deeply disturbing. Why are those children/teenagers kept prisoner on a tropical island, forced to turn out a different tune every day without rest? Why are they so sneeringly patronizing to the caretaker man whose name I've forgotten? And why is the BBC peddling I-biza clubland culture to our pre-schoolers?

ohnelly · 27/07/2010 14:48

The wiggles have to be the worst surely? cant stand them!!!

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 14:55

Quite right Ciderup, my DCs are watching show me show me for the second time today

MissWormwood · 27/07/2010 14:58

I hate Squigglet with a dreadful intensity and imagine the monster suit going up in flames (those hideous pink lips! WHY?) Unfortunately my DS likes it. I am one of those shocking parents who leave the TV running most of the time and just dip in to programmes when they catch our interest. And we only ever have CBeebies on to avoid the inundation of adverts for rubbishy toys (wish we were like Sweden and banned adverts aimed specifically at children) for as long as possible.

We quite like Zingzillas. Thought Sarah Jane was Drum though, with all those cartwheels she inexplicably does? Todd's arms are repulsive, with that matted fur... bleugh. And their island is a ridiculous shape and tinier than my garden, so enough of all that "but that's the other side of the island!" It's mere metres away. Get over it.

Numberjacks (3 is irritating though), Come Outside (why does Auntie Mabel always fly to the shops/wherever she's going? And why never do safety checks on her plane before taking off?), Big Cook Little Cook, Waybuloo (I could just die but DS likes it), ITNG, anything with children in really.

Mummy just watches for Andy (and Chris in Doodle Do - wish that was back on properly)

latrucha · 27/07/2010 15:03

Yes. Squiglet. And squiggling.

It started with the simple fact that we have a word for 'squiggling' (drawing, for those of you not educated by Cbeebies). Why invent another word for children who are acquiring language.

Really, I must turn the telly off.

Careful · 27/07/2010 15:05

Eesh. Zingzillas. One girl gurning in pink and getting obsessed with her new shoes, the other not even able to string a coherent sentence together. And those three dollybirds shacked up with DJ Loose ... I ask you .

Do quite like it though. The songs stick in my head and I like watching DS 'dancing' to the music.

BosomForAPillow · 27/07/2010 15:07

Don't forget squiggle sticks/squiggle pad.

bandgeek · 27/07/2010 15:11

Thanks very much guys, I'm going to be humming the bloody theme song for the rest of the day now

And why does Squiglet (who I want to hit with a big stick because that is a piñata)always use crayone (never squiggle sticks) that aren't in it's apron?!!!!!!!!!!

I please to aim!

Am sitting on the sofa with aches and a sore neck (sign of bad things to come) so DD has been dumped in front of the TV all day, this thread is my outlet!

MissWormwood · 27/07/2010 15:20

Exactly latrucha. And the drawing is so bad! What's all this guff about "we'll need a straight line"? Er, to draw a dog? No straight lines in dogs that I noticed. It's all just hateful. Even Louie isn't as bad (the drawing is fractionally better). I know children's drawing is usually, um, unstructured - but I don't see the point in showing them an inaccurate way to start with. Squiggle sticks!!!!

I'll go for a quiet lie-down in a darkened room.

OneTwoBuckleMyShoe · 27/07/2010 15:24

Come Outside was made when I was in middle school

I now teach in a middle school

feralgirl · 27/07/2010 15:39

Oh, do I need to ban Zingzillas then? DH has been raving about it recently. He does the bulk of the childcare but has VERY questionnable taste (Disney channel anyone? )

We do Waybuloo (which I adore for some reason) and In the Night Garden because I like the bit at the beginning and the theme tune.

DS (20 mo) doesn't really get a say in the matter...

ouryve · 27/07/2010 15:43

YABU. Anything that gets my 6 year old trying to sing scat with Cleo Lane and my 4 year old dancing along while I get dressed in the morning can't be all that bad!

sonsmum · 27/07/2010 15:54

I used to loathe zingzillas...but now I quite like it and often find myself humming the tune (i know - how sad is that!)

On the other hand - 'Penelope K by the way'..........now that really is a load of twaddle......
