is anyone else unbearably irritated by this program? I run for the remote as soon as it starts, even my DC aren't keen on it thankfully for my ears.
Is it a complete BBC flop? Bring on more Charlie and Lola and less of the Zingcrap.

I love ZingZillas, and best of all it's really encouraged DS's (3.7) interest in music. He gets all his instruments out and plays along, including a guitar that we got for when he's a bit bigger. I actually like some of the songs , but then I don't get out much these days.

I like the fact that they show real musicians playing all sorts of instruments - DS has learnt about things like "scatting" (didn't even know that was what it was called), bhangra and the names of some instruments I can't even remember.

The only annoying thing is that they don't seem to have made many episodes yet so it keeps getting repeated.

But the TWEENIES - man, they are annoying and get switched off!

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 12:53

Yes Big Cook Little Cook is so awful especially Big's laugh "ho ho ho small!" Sooo fake!

saucetastic · 27/07/2010 12:58

You do realise Anathema, that Igglepiggle and Tang are one and the same person He's very talented.

Katy is really lovely, but she needs to loosen up a bit on camera and stop trying to control the kids responses with her laughter. Or more likely, it's the way it's cut that makes it look that way.

victoriascrumptious · 27/07/2010 13:00

I think Nisha has a puff of the ol crack pipe before each show

victoriascrumptious · 27/07/2010 13:01

I think Big Cook suffers from clinical depression. I see the despair in his eyes

DinahRod · 27/07/2010 13:06

I hear you Onestonetogo, it's just so lurid and migraine inducing.

I imagine it's a 'creative' 30-something's idea of what makes successful children's programming: a mish-mash of other successful programmes now rolled in to one hideous package.

Thanks to Shrillzillas, ds 6 and dd 4 have discovered 'Midsomer's Murders'

FunnyLittleFrog · 27/07/2010 13:07

That Penelope K dresses completely inappropriately for kids' TV.

FionaSH · 27/07/2010 13:10

I quite fancy Big Cook.

Fiona!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 27/07/2010 13:25

I love Zingzillas and so DSs. Space Pirates on the hand was awful.

FionaSH · 27/07/2010 13:28

Alibaba I know...

becklespeckle · 27/07/2010 13:31

Can't bear Zingzillas either.

Why can the drummer (Drum?) play the drums well but not talk properly? Annoying in the extreme.

I will have to disagree to those not liking Waybuloo though, initally I thought it dreadful but how can I hate something my DD adores so much? And she looks so cute doing yoga

Third and Bird (aka Bird and Bird) is the current favourite in our house though - made excellent by the fabulous Muffin , even my 7 & 10 year old DSs like it!

Love Tinga Tinga, didn't realise it wasn't on now , also love Yoko Jakamoko Toto

mixedmamameansbusiness · 27/07/2010 13:38

Oh and now I have read the thread - Something Special is a massive favourite in our house.

Luckily cBeebies programmes only last 15 mins though really.

And Chris and Pui will always rule! (and Sid)

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 27/07/2010 13:43

I don't mind Zingzillas as much as I mind much of the rest of children's television, and the DCs like it.

The drummer is a monkey while the rest of them are apes... not sure if that's related?

FionaSH · 27/07/2010 13:47

I assumed Drum didn't talk in proper sentences because she was a baby, and kids quite like that sort of monosyllabic talk don't they? A la Teletubbies?

[FionaSH can't believe she is actually having a serious conversation about Zingzillas, and walks away to contemplate her return to work]

BosomForAPillow · 27/07/2010 13:51

Yes Zingzillas is awful and always seems to have just started whenever I turn Cbeebies on. Isn't it much longer than a normal Cbeebies programme? I'd say it's half an hour whereas most are just 15 mins, but maybe it just feels like that.

Whoamireally · 27/07/2010 13:54

Appreciate I'm clearly in the minority but I love Zingzillas and so does DD1 (4) - she loves dancing and I think it's great for broadening her horizons outside ballet - flamenco, bhangra - plus the music side of it is great, although it's a bit wierd how they shoehorn in the artistes (Evelyn Glennie episode particularly odd).

Think it's very catchy and they've done a great job on the theme tunes!!

Is ELC doing some kind of Zingzillas promotion? Maybe that's where amazingbouncingferret works.

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 14:02

DD (2.6) covers her ears and yells 'stop!' when Katy from I Can Cook starts singing. That's fine, bit of a running joke with me and DD but I was in the kitchen today when I heard her yelling 'stop! stop!'. Went in and Zingzillas was on, she had her ears covered. I thought she liked it . I like it, any show that features Cleo Laine and Evelyn Glennie is ok with me.

But what I want to know is, when the blithering bollocks are they going to bring back Show Me Show Me? The longer it's off the more pissed of I'm DD is getting.

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 14:04

The first series of show me show me is being repeated now at 10.35am weekdays.

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 14:05

When did that sneak back on?? teaandcake mwah!

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 27/07/2010 14:09

My husband has just wondered aloud whether Big Cook has ever been tempted to cook Little Cook.

teaandcakeplease · 27/07/2010 14:10

Very recently Made me very happy to see it back on, as my DCs love them. I still miss the fact they no longer present CBeebies and that changed yonks ago now
