For me:

cruising - no, you’re on a cruise

flexitarian - also no, you’re a meat eater

Hope this helps, or its abbreviation hth. Its so obnoxious and I always imagine the poster congratulating themselves on their response.

I genuinely thought it was happy to help in a nice way.

"And myself" as they're trying to sound professional but instead marks them as a total tool.

Sorry I haven't rtft if someone has already posted this 😉

RepercussionsMayVary · 20/09/2026 07:44

‘Isnt she gorgeous’
’Dont you just love her’

Talking about a dress…

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 20/09/2026 08:10

Tell me you aren’t xxxxxxxx without telling me you aren’t xxxxxxx.

SirChenjins · 20/09/2026 08:33

Project manage - when you're just doing something ordinary like getting a new bathroom or kitchen fitted with different tradespeople doing the different parts.

Tell me you aren’t xxxxxxxx without telling me you aren’t xxxxxxx.

Oh I hate this one too!

Also "I was today years old when ......"

MaeshoweDragon · 20/09/2026 08:40

Shop the winter edit.

I know what all the words mean. Not quite sure they form a comprehensible sentence without context.

Fast800goingforit · 20/09/2026 08:43

So blessed 🤮

Neurospicy. Drives me nuts.

I HATE this. It makes me uncomfortable. There’s something very visceral and almost inappropriate sounding about it.

This has probably been mentioned (but I only got as far as ‘neurospicy’ before my brain exploded) but ‘I’m obsessed with …’ drives me bonkers. Also ‘be like’, as in ‘Boomers be like … (insert ludicrous stereotyping here.) While I’m on the subject, I also hate the word ‘boomer’ because it is always used so pejoratively, rather than simply as a descriptor like all the other generational names.

Batcats · 20/09/2026 09:02

The term "gentle hands" usually used by some wet blanket parent while their small child is tearing lumps out another child.

Also a term I'm seeing banded on social media is the term "re-parenting ourselves" in reference to millennials and their childhoods. Of course many people have abusive and traumatic childhoods. But theres a need for many others to over-pathologise every negative emotion and event in their life rather than realising our parents were human beings who made mistakes.

TurquoiseGoldPeaches · 20/09/2026 09:04

Myself. Just say ME ffs! You don’t sound intelligent you sound like a dick!!!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/09/2026 09:11

Speakeasy22 · 19/09/2026 12:44

Not exactly wankiest but... gifted. What happened to given/gave? Why is everything a gift and not a present.

Yes! And it’s going to be everywhere you look soon, when it’s coming up to you know what…

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/09/2026 09:12

‘Myself and X went/did….’

Batcats · 20/09/2026 09:12

Oh yes and "hands-on dad" and any reference to dad's "helping" or "looking after the kids" like he's doing a favour or some sort of paid assistant rather than parenting being a duty. We don't apply these terms to women and mothers, it's no wonder the bar is set so low for men!

Munchie1965 · 20/09/2026 09:19

Nope!

On email or social media it just seems so rude and dismissive.

Similarly Yep!

Clonakilla · 20/09/2026 09:27

‘Lean protein’, ‘packed with protein’ announcing something is ‘home made’ or ‘made from scratch’ when a) it’s not relevant, b) there’s no medal for this and c)normal people would assume you made it yourself eg spag bol.

Have only ever seen people use terms like ‘woke’ or ‘virtue signalling’ who have almost immediately shown themselves to be massive arseholes.

HelpMeGetThrough · 20/09/2026 09:42

”snuggling” winds me up.

There’ll be loads of threads on here soon about snuggling under a heated blanket because it’s -20 in the lounge and still the wrong month to put the heating on.
