Goodness me, wasn't expecting that.

I'm astounded by your heartlessness.
The man is dead, he isn't coming back.

The woman who was pushed would be dead too if it wasnt for the quick reflexes of that bus driver

when was he found guilty? Confused
in 2018 the police closed the case

He wasn't. He hadn't even been charged. He was a suspect who had been arrested and was still under investigation. He was the fourth man to be arrested.

He was arrested in June 2026.

If you look you'll notice all the media headlines refer to "Putney Pusher suspect" or "suspect in the Putney Pusher case".

@2ndHandLou Usually the simple explanation is the correct one, in this case he was one of the seemingly significant number of men who push women out of their way for no reason other than that is their personality

Dozens of people in this thread are talking about how disgusting and horrible this man is, and there is no doubt that that is correct.

But the point that no one can answer, and no one can dodge, is the fact that he was married. Why is it that the absolute worst men have absolutely no difficulty finding partners?

He was posh and wealthy and presumably charming when he wanted to be. I think he was separated from his second wife by the time of that interview and divorced from his first wife so the charm had obviously worn off.

Contain4 · 16/09/2026 17:54

Was he the actual person who did it?

He was released without charge and so I hope it’s not a case of being hounded for committing a crime he didn’t do.

shuggles · 16/09/2026 17:56

@widetoothcomb He was posh and wealthy and presumably charming when he wanted to be.

I'm not convinced that this is correct.

For example, there was a guy who went to my school was extremely rude and obnoxious. He was always rude and obnoxious, and it was clear to everyone. Yet, women flocked to him. He had no difficulty finding a partner and getting married, though now he's divorced.

So I have no idea what's going on here, and I suspect you don't know either.

Ewww mummy complex woman hater.

Is there a technical term for that?

Norman Bates Complex maybe!

No women flocked to him, unless you mean the teachers. You were at school; you were all kids, including him and the girls who were drawn to him. Kids/children/youngsters aren't known for their fantastic mature judgement... and getting married isn't difficult.

Petrolitis · 16/09/2026 18:04

That's good news, he was a danger to women.

I also wasn't sad when Peter Sutcliffe died, or Charlie Kirk. They were both dangerous to women in their differing ways.

My heart feels for their families but frankly men who hate and harm women just for being women, I won't shed a tear for them. I feel the same about rascists, when Farage or Yaxley Lennon go, they'll be no mourning from me. To pretend otherwise would be hypocritical.

I won't be sad when Prince Andrew shuffles off either, hes cut from the same cloth.

ginasevern · 16/09/2026 18:04

First cousin to Phil the Greek. Arrogance checks out then.

CrazyMidget · 16/09/2026 18:05

Well, I hesitate to be glad about anyone's suicide; a much better solution would have been for him to take responsibility, take his punishment, take advantage of all the therapy and rehabilitation he could have got in prison, and commit to being a better person in every way, for the rest of his life.

However. There was clearly something very, VERY wrong with him. What he did to that woman was psychotic, and then there was that other incident in traffic, too. I often think that someone like that is just wired wrong.

I feel sorry for his kids, if he has any. He and his wife were separated, I think. I'm sure she has mixed feelings, but in a way this might solve a problem for her, awful as that is to say.

How did he stay secret for so long

He was rich, (very) well connected and perfectly decent looking.

It really is as simple as that. People with far less 'on the table' have multiple partners.

Connections pure and simple. No wonder the Met dragged their feet. Like I said up thread, he was first cousin to Prince Philip.

I hate when these cowards don't stick around to face the consequences of their actions ☹️.

TheGander · 16/09/2026 18:23

I’m just sorry we’ve lost the opportunity to understand what led hIm to such an act.

Cadeaukatze · 16/09/2026 18:24

FriendlyMedusa · 16/09/2026 15:57

Unfortunately agree with this.

I will never forget the time I was pushing my infant niece in a pram on a path that was easily wide enough for 4-5 people, and rather than just going around me, a high speed lycra bloke dinged his bell repeatedly then skidded just short of hitting us and screamed in my face for not jumping out of his way. A lot of wealthy psychopaths in that city.

I had a similar experience a few years ago (minus pram and niece) with a guy but it was a middle aged man in a suit on a Boris bike. Wasn't impressed I didn't get out of his way even though I had priority. I told him to read the Highway Code.

I didn't think he was being anti-women, I assumed he was a partner in a law firm or similar and was used to everyone jumping to his tune and didn't like it when I didn't.

That's the only time I've experienced it, although it's an occupational hazard in London with all the lycra louts and e-bike riders dinging their bells at you if you walk within 10m of them.

Like the guy who murdered his wife (Emma) and daughter (Lettie) at Epsom College and then turned the gun on himself.

but he was a suspect

Minasama · 16/09/2026 18:27

If it was indeed him, this is extremely cheering news (though dreadful for his family.) It is good that he won’t be able to inflict any more harm.

DogAnxiety · 16/09/2026 18:30

Within one page there are people making excuses for this ‘man’, PTSD, blah. It’s much more likely he was an entitled, coked up horror with no fear of the law, He ran back the same way 15
minutes later to have a gander.

Shitzngiggles · 16/09/2026 18:30

wifty · 16/09/2026 16:51

This is confusing - what do you mean trying to murder the stranger to him?

not sure what you’re trying to say - sorry if I’m being thick lol

Glad its not just me. I didn't understand that post at all.

parakeet · 16/09/2026 17:47

I hate to question someone's lived experience as they say, but...WHAT? I've lived in London 30 years and never once had a man randomly shove me, nor heard of this from any of my friends.

I agree with you!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/09/2026 18:46

TheLambtonWorm · 16/09/2026 16:37

Oh god, are you really "not all men"ing this post?? 😂😂

And the case she references can be totally distinguished from this one as well, as she doesn't give the full story.

DogAnxiety · 16/09/2026 18:50

I can absolutely well believe the aggressive men pushing experience reported by some on here. Only tonight on the way home from work I was nearly mown down by an angry cyclist in full Lycra hollering at me to “get out of thr fucking way” on a pedestrian crossing, he had gone through a red light - this was in full view of several large armed coppers by the side of the road. Such incredible entitlement.
