Goodness me, wasn't expecting that.

Are you unfamiliar with arrogant, selfish, entitled men who don't give a seconds thought to pushing someone out of the way because they think they are superior?

Of course he wasn't trying to murder he, he was being a knob head.

He'd have pushed her bus or no bus, the bus was behind him when he pushed her

Have you seen the footage? She wasn’t in his way, he was running alongside the bus, ran past a man then crossed diagonally across the footpath towards the woman and pushed her into the road. It looked a lot more deliberate than just a passing swipe at someone blocking his path.

Convicted in that he got points on his license (not the full amount) and a fine of a few hundred points - he thanked the judge and said he'd pay immediately (with a smirk, probably).

It's a shame for his family obviously, but my sympathies lie with the woman who almost lost her life that day.

oh yes, just a slap on the wrist

I note he was in the Army in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. Perhaps that had a bearing on his mental health. Not excusing it at all.

I remember being horrified when the ‘push’ happened. It unnerved me enough that I’ve been more careful on tube platforms and similar crowded places ever since.

Yes, I wondered about PTSD from his Army postings. My stepson served in Iraq and Afghanistan and to this day won't really talk about it.

He also served as a former British Army captain in Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

I dread to think what acts of depravity he did there.

KatherineParr · 16/09/2026 15:42

I'm a bit shocked we're only a few posts into this thread but there's already so many stories of men pushing women in the streets.

Lexy2345 · 16/09/2026 15:49

If he has died by suicide, and it does sound as if he has, from the wording in the report, then he's an even bigger coward than I first thought. His poor family.

Plinketyplonks · 16/09/2026 15:51

His poor kids, to have all that known about your father. I wonder why the police were taking so long to charge him?

Ginburee · 16/09/2026 15:53

There have been so many posts about this over the years on MN.

I'm more worried about what he might have done to the civilians in those countries.

One of those arrogant London b*stards who like shoving women for no reason. Why am I not surprised that he was in court for riding a motorbike into a woman also? I’ve lost count of the amount of times men in London have shoved me - so nasty, and I don’t scare easily. The Putney Pusher story never surprised me in the first place - London is full of them.

Unfortunately agree with this.

I will never forget the time I was pushing my infant niece in a pram on a path that was easily wide enough for 4-5 people, and rather than just going around me, a high speed lycra bloke dinged his bell repeatedly then skidded just short of hitting us and screamed in my face for not jumping out of his way. A lot of wealthy psychopaths in that city.

Uricon2 · 16/09/2026 16:11

I would put the house on the Class A in the charges being cocaine.

I don't think whoever did was trying to murder the stranger to him, it could have ended with her death but you aren't suggesting that person planned to kill someone are you?

What does, "I don't think whoever did was trying to murder the stranger to him," mean?

it could have ended with her death but you aren't suggesting that person planned to kill someone are you?

If you push someone into the path of an oncoming bus I think death is not an unlikely outcome.

Absolutely.

The clip is on the BBC now. He passed a man walking directly in front of the woman and did nothing.

He saw the woman, ran diagonally towards her and shoved her. He would have clearly heard the bus. He meant to kill or maim.

Makes you wonder how many other women he had hurt. The nonchalance and the later running back across the bridge doesnt scream first offence, rather repeat offender who has got away with a lot.

dh280125 · 16/09/2026 16:18

Oh dear. How sad.

Newyearawaits · 16/09/2026 16:20

May he RIP.

Boomer55 · 16/09/2026 16:20

Unless there was more to it, thus seems a bit extreme by him.

Summer26woohoo · 16/09/2026 16:21

I didn't even know they had a suspect.

I really hope it was actually him that did it and not a case of mistaken identity, that's pushed some poor bloke to suicide.

You have no idea what was going through his mind.

EasternStandard · 16/09/2026 16:24

Oh I was surprised by this. I feel sorry for his family even though I wanted the pusher caught, if it was him.

I think that's less likely.

Cloverroll · 16/09/2026 16:27

It's not just men that push though - a woman pushed another woman on a bike a few years ago and the cyclist woman died. The pusher had mental health issues, but I do wonder if she'd have done the same to a man. I think all we can say is that people push women.

And neither do the posters who are saying he was commiting the legal offence of murder yet they are sure in a split second he saw a woman registered a bus coming up from behind him and had a coherent thought that it was an opportunity to murder a stranger

Usually the simple explanation is the correct one, in this case he was one of the seemingly significant number of men who push women out of their way for no reason other than that is their personality

There's not a single person on here who's said that he's committed murder. For a start, the woman wasn't killed. People are simply challenging your assertion that he didn't intend to kill her.

For someone who can't even punctuate a Mumsnet post in a coherent manner you seem astonishingly confident in your ability to analyse a complete stranger's psychopathology.

IndigoBluey · 16/09/2026 16:32

@2ndHandLou how do you think you’d fare horizontal in front of a double decker bus?
