Goodness me, wasn't expecting that.

Where is it being reported ?

LadyValerie · 16/09/2026 15:09

I don’t know if it’s that unexpected. Successful and powerful men who have been made to face the consequences of their actions are always a suicide risk. I hope the woman he allegedly tried to murder is doing ok.

Lemonpossett · 16/09/2026 15:10

And a Royal Background…. What an extraordinary turn of events.

CousinBette · 16/09/2026 15:11

He didn’t want to stay around to face the consequences of his own actions. I’ll bet he didn’t push just the one woman, and there were the drugs charges too. Thinking of his poor wife who he’s left to deal with the mess. And yes, I still mean that if she was indeed the one who reported him to the police.

lisaloo88 · 16/09/2026 15:13

Sounds like he was a spineless man who didn’t want to face any punishment. I will save my sympathy for the innocent victims.

2ndHandLou · 16/09/2026 15:14

One would not be unreasonable to take that as an admission of guilt

I wonder what will come out now

the Daily Mail article says he collided with a cyclist in Hyde Park in 2012. He was riding a Harley Davidson.

He was convicted although he said he didn’t notice it happening…

I don't think whoever did was trying to murder the stranger to him, it could have ended with her death but you aren't suggesting that person planned to kill someone are you?

I think somebody deliberately pushing a person into the path of an oncoming bus has a reasonable intention of causing that person harm or death, yep.

Somethinggg · 16/09/2026 15:22

I expect even if it were just the drugs, he was likely to lose his job and status.

Convicted in that he got points on his license (not the full amount) and a fine of a few hundred points - he thanked the judge and said he'd pay immediately (with a smirk, probably).

It's a shame for his family obviously, but my sympathies lie with the woman who almost lost her life that day.

If you're not planning to kill someone, I wouldn't be pushing them in front of a bus.

izzyolomidebuzz · 16/09/2026 15:26

One of those arrogant London b*stards who like shoving women for no reason. Why am I not surprised that he was in court for riding a motorbike into a woman also? I’ve lost count of the amount of times men in London have shoved me - so nasty, and I don’t scare easily. The Putney Pusher story never surprised me in the first place - London is full of them.

How do you think it might go if you push someone infront of a moving bus?

wordywitch · 16/09/2026 15:28

As someone who has also been pushed into moving traffic by a man unknown to me, I can’t say I’m sad to hear this.

IndigoBluey · 16/09/2026 15:28

And the poor bus driver too. I wonder how it all came to light recently after a few year

I am always wary walking past men near a road. I cycle to work occassionally and part of the journey is a narrow-ish path with a river on one side. If I can see a man approaching either on foot or on a bike, I stick to the side away from the river, as I fear being pushed in. I'm so sorry you actually experienced it happening.

Are you unfamiliar with arrogant, selfish, entitled men who don't give a seconds thought to pushing someone out of the way because they think they are superior?

Of course he wasn't trying to murder he, he was being a knob head.

He'd have pushed her bus or no bus, the bus was behind him when he pushed her

There was some speculation that it could have been an ex-wife or partner. Divorce or affair. Perhaps it will all come out in the inquest.

Fartughtyred · 16/09/2026 15:33

It would seem that he had already been suspended from his job after his arrest and there were rumours that he was already separated from his wife. Clearly a man with significant problems, guilty or not but I believe he was also a father, so terribly sad for his child and close family notwithstanding the horrific experience he inflicted on his victim if he was guilty.

I note he was in the Army in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. Perhaps that had a bearing on his mental health. Not excusing it at all.

I remember being horrified when the ‘push’ happened. It unnerved me enough that I’ve been more careful on tube platforms and similar crowded places ever since.

Easy tiger. No need to be quite so aggressive. Agree that he might not have known there was a bus right there in that moment but there's a good chance that if you push someone into a road in a city centre that there's going to be a vehicle there.

Teado · 16/09/2026 15:37

I’m sorry for those who loved him. I hope they’re as ok as can be expected.

Yes I can identify with that as I do the same - I have to walk and cycle on a road with a river bordering one side and for the same reason, always cross over if a man is approaching!
I can't imagine the horror of what that poor woman went through and thank God for the bus driver. Awful affair.
