Mine is that I ADORE white pepper, while everyone else seems to think it tastes like the 70s and hospital dinners.

I also prefer some things over cooked, mainly broccoli and pasta.

What's yours?

I like dry overcooked chicken - hate “juicy” meat.

Arlanymor · Yesterday 12:22

I like pineapple on pizza - it makes me laugh when people seem to think it is the grossest thing ever though are just happy to pour bloody hot honey over every single savoury thing as is the latest trend!

Gigglingsquid1 · Yesterday 12:22

Hate avocado, mashed potato and tuna

Me too. I also used to have it in Sandwiches with cream cheese.

Hello my sister from another mister.

Pineapple on pizza is great, and hot honey can get in the bin.

Cotopaxi · Yesterday 12:25

I like my scrambled eggs to be bouncy, not that sloppy nonsense.

murasaki · Yesterday 12:26

I don't like desserts. Never have. I'd rather have a starter and a cheese course, or just a starter if it's two courses. There's only one chocolate bar I like, and one has been in my fridge for a month as I just forget it's there.

Cooking really delicious, nutritious food is not quick, cheap or easy; it requires time, skill, space, knowledge and money to be able to coax the best flavour and texture out of things. The reason so many attempts at healthy eating fail is that the quality of food available in the supermarkets is generally terrible (tasteless vegetables, woody chicken etc) and advice on healthy eating often consists of utterly joyless recipes. So people start with poor quality ingredients and then often don't have the time and/or knowledge to maximise their potential: of course they conclude that healthy food is unsatisfying and don't want to stick with it.

Openmouthinsertfood · Yesterday 12:34

Same with veg. 70's/80's child here and everthing was boiled to death. I do like over cooked fried egg too, love the crispy bit it forms round the edge.

Jellycatspyjamas · Yesterday 12:35

@RaucousSwan I absolutely agree, it takes time and skill. Once you have those yes it’s possible to make good, tasty, nutritious food but my heart sinks when people suggest a “cheap tasty dhal” as a budget meal. Only if you have the right spices, and know how to use and balance them. Otherwise it’s a slop of tasteless lentils.

No everything doesn’t need to be chef quality to be worthwhile, but it does take knowledge and ability.

Hate cooked fruit. Pies, tarts cakes. Only exception is I like banana bread and my late mother’s fruit cake. And trifle is the most disgusting thing invented: 🤢

MêmePasPeur · Yesterday 12:40

Biscoff (or spéculos) is sickly and in bloody everything.

MissKittyFantastico84 · Yesterday 12:40

I like cold toast, ideally fresh out the freezer for a short while, then buttered with room temp butter. I existed on this ‘meal’ as a teenager, to my mum’s utter exhaustion.

I hate poached fruit. And chocolate covered fruit. Just eat normal fruit please, it’s not pudding though.

CatVester · Yesterday 12:43

I really like white pepper too.

I don't actually really like potatoes. Or cake.

Unexpectedlhereagain · Yesterday 12:48

I always use white pepper in mash and Yorkshire puddings.

I don’t really like cake. I can eat it, to be polite but I’m not keen. I especially dislike carrot cake.

My friend is a bit bossy. We went for a coffee and she said ‘we’ll have a slice of carrot cake, between us’. She proceeded to order and pay for it, which was lovely of her but I really struggled to eat my half. She finished it for me.

ilovepixie · Yesterday 12:49

Love cold burnt toast, burnt meat and pineapple on pizza.

Hoppinggreen · Yesterday 12:49

Mashed potato is gross and so is gravy
Combined they are absolutely horriffic

shellyleppard · Yesterday 12:51

That mince and tatties is a lovely dinner 😁

LadySparrow · Yesterday 12:51

I love Brussels sprouts, even when they’re boiled.

Wait. Wait wait.

So you toast it then freeze it? Or the bread is frozen then you toast it and let it cool down?

I don’t like truffle (oil or any other form), the horrible salted caramel, hot honey, nduja(sp?) and speculoos trends in, on, or within 5 miles of me. I also don’t particularly like pizza either.

HeboreoMaltian · Yesterday 12:54

I don't really like chocolate even when it used to be decent in the UK

I can't physically eat cereals (any kind of cereals) with milk on. Dry all bran is my favourite

Cottage cheese and Greek yoghurt put me in mind of vaginal discharge during a bad bout of thrush. Just no

Plain canned tuna is cat food and should not pass human lips

Peas are like tiny little bogeys

Potatoes are just clods of tasteless earth gubbins.

I love the honey trend because I'm a basic fucking bitch

PuppyMonkey · Yesterday 12:54

I’m going to post the shocker I share on all unpopular opinion threads and that is: I hate gravy and believe it ruins all meals that it’s poured over.

Lomonald · Yesterday 12:55

Yes me too,

I'm with you on salted caramel actually, I miss normal caramel. Like it was fine before.
