What would you think of your son 18 was dating a 21 year old woman ?

Happening to a friend of mine son and she’s not feeling too comfortable about it, the 21 year old was previously in. Three yearlong relationship with someone a year or two older then her

Seems fine to me. It's not a huge gap. I'd be more concerned if they were at different life stages eg he''s a student and she's working, because that can cause issues, but even that is up to them.

Not a big gap. I wouldn’t worry about it. 18 and 15 yes, but not 18 and 21.

3 years isn't a significant age gap, even at their young age.

I bet it wouldn't even occur to you to be concerned if the genders were reversed.

My DD dated a 31 year old at 18. THAT was not ideal but thankfully it fizzled out. 18 & 21 is fine

Totally acceptable, either way round IMO. Its 3 years and they are both over 16.

shes had a three year long relationship
he’s about to go on his first lads holiday
she’s been on multiple holidays with her ex
he doesn’t drive yet and she’s got a car and been driving few years
they both work

If they were both at the same life stage it would be fine. Would be a bit odd if he was still at college and she was at Uni or working. How did they meet?

Well I did it. Nobody said anything and we've been married for 30+ years.

Her concern is level of experiences and maturity
and him
missing out on really enjoying his first lads trip etc and her just basically having had a lot of more experience
esp the 3 years relationship part
