I'll start with British Gas, awful company, very expensive and customer service is non existent..there is a reason they have lost a few million customers of recent years, close second place is EE for similar reasoning.

Pizza Express because they were really petty over a voucher when we spent about £200 - couldn’t use the voucher because 7 in the party and the voucher was for percentage off 6. We didn’t ask for it off the whole bill for 7, just for the 6! They said if one had sat at a different table and ordered separately we could have had the discount. Even the customer service team wouldn’t budge. Needlessly petty and I’ve never been there again and never will. Still fume about it now a couple of years later whenever I pass a Pizza Express

Not quite the same, but donating to any overseas aid programs. Having lived abroad and seen how NGOs actually spend money it made me vow never to be scammed by them again.

Funnily enough o read the title and came on to say British Gas!!!

And it was 20 years ago I dealt with them!!!

Virgin media. Awful company. Mislead and lie to customers, and then make it really difficult to leave.

Pret - I've never rated the food and the staff always seem off hand. I was desperate for water one day and went into one after years of not doing so. I was just getting the water out, visually checking if it was still or sparkling and a staff member asked me to move. I'd been there a micro second and any basic training days you don't ask customers to move unless you absolutely have to. I walked out

Wild deodorant. You don’t get to surreptitiously sell out to Unilever, pump out an excessive number of novelty cases full of plastic components, and still claim to be an ethical choice. Greenwashing gets on my nerves.

unsync · Yesterday 20:55

Tesco - worked on the property supply side. Their behaviour to suppliers was appalling.

AutumnCrowSeason · Yesterday 20:55

British Gas

John Lewis

(soon to be) BT for broadband

I’ll avoid any company, union or organisation that I am aware has been Stonewalled or is anti-women’s rights

DallasMajor · Yesterday 20:56

Flora.

H0ldmybeer · Yesterday 20:57

Amazon. Does all it can to avoid paying tax and overpacks all the rubbish it delivers.

They’ve made some real fancy promises about chicken welfare that never came to pass, too. The prices they charge they can afford to say no to the whole Frankenchicken horror.

AtlasPine · Yesterday 20:58

Wetherspoons as I hate them.

AndAnd · Yesterday 20:59

My local newsagents.

The bloke is incredibly rude. His wife's OK but she's usually out the back.

Offherrockingchair · Yesterday 20:59

John Lewis were crap with our wedding list and changed my name to Mrs by default. Sexist fuckers! I’ve never been a Mrs.

Various council departments. Horrendous service with school transport, zero accountability, despite breaking the law.

VW aftersales service - absolute shite.

The North American ice cream chain that fired me from my summer job when I was 14. Stick that sundae scoop up your ass, franchisers!

Cheeseburgerforbreakfast · Yesterday 21:02

The company I work for.

Putting customers at risk via allergen contamination and ingredients not being safely stored. Not following trading standards laws and cutting corners in almost every area possible.

Gofaster2023 · Yesterday 21:03

Talk talk. I split with my ex and moved out but the bill, which was in both of our names, came from my account. I phoned them multiple times, a millionth in the queue, waited for ages, finally through and then put on hold for ages and then cut off. So i phoned again...and again and again. After 5 nights of this I was so exhausted I decided I hated talk talk more than I hated my ex and i just paid his stupid bill for 7 months as it was preferable than trying to speak to a human.

Electricsausages · Yesterday 21:04

Albert Bartlet allows/ sponsors fox hunting on its land 😡

SwedishEdith · Yesterday 21:07

Loads 😁

Wetherspoons
Next
Warburtons
Amazon (except that I do have a Kindle)
Sky

I'm sure there are more.

Premiwe inn. We went to a youth hostel years ago and then had our treat at a premier inn, it was new and by the sea.

We checked in and our room was dirty the typical thick black pubes 😱etx I pulled the sheet and the mattress topper was covered. Body imprint in the bed bathroom filrhy and sand everywhere

I was really nice about it the guy I spoke to was nice about it i said we would go out again and could they sort it out he said if course.

Got back. Room the same and they had hours. New staff really rude, defensive told me they had no new mattress toppers anyway 😨??? They were not aologletics not not nice made my husband feel like a criminal asking him to leave the room whilst she did it etc even with myself and two small DC there.

We were tired etc and fed up.
Even after she " cleaned " it there was a dirty bath and sink by this point I was too tired and won't set foot in one again. .
No apology ,no money off and we had spent an entire afternoon out to give them time to clean it.

Ryan air. Awful.

Certain pub chains.

Harvester they used to be so good ! Franchise kills places off.

notadroptodrink · Yesterday 21:11

NatWest. They really scammed me when I was younger, can’t remember exactly what but it must have been bad as I got a grovelling letter of apology and a box of chocolates delivered to my uni halls!

morrisons. For ages they kept on cancelling my online deliveries last minute with no notification or explanation.

I try to avoid Amazon but it’s just seemingly impossible for certain things. And I really wish Etsy would go back to its roots.

Plus online in general. I’m so sick of everything being only online. Wanted to choose some handles and things, do some DIY, go into B and Q screwfix type places, everything is ‘oh we don’t stock it, try online.’ Yes fine but I want to see how the item looks and feels before buying and then if I don’t like it, faffing with returns and waiting for refunds. Even Argos now is hard to get things same day from.

ETA booking.com! They are rubbish if you have a complaint, don’t take any responsibility at all and don’t help. They ruined a trip of mine because they hadn’t actually booked the flights properly.

SwirlyGates · Yesterday 21:12

Ryanair. It's a pain as they seem to have a monopoly on cheap flights from my local airport to large parts of Europe. I'd rather use Jet2, with free cabin bags, or EasyJet. (Wonder what will happen to EasyJet).

Amazon, Greggs, Starbucks, Costa, Pret, Primark, Currys, Wagamama...

Basically all the soulless chains and the greedy organisations that don't pay their fair share of tax.

Yeah I've had the pleasure of dealing with them in the past and back then they used overseas call centres with language barriers so was difficult to deal with
