Absolutely love the owls. - I went to an exhibition of Hieronymus Bosch works a few years ago - he had a thing about owls and this sketch was there. (Voluntary additional tax)
There seems to be some debate whether Owls signify wisdom, ignorance, death, or deceit in his works. Seems strangely appropriate on a political thead.

More than 120 millionaires.. have signed an open letter urging PM Andy Burnham to tax their wealth. The campaign, called 'Proud to Pay' says a 2% tax on wealth over £10m could raise £24 billion a year.

Gillian Keegan, former Conservative MP, said on Newsnight that they can already pay the extra tax if they wanted to.

curious. As a Portuguese speaker the title grabbed my attention- what’s the deal with that?

paying a flat 2% over 10m seems fair. It’s the “low” millionaires that seem to be the low hanging fruit, which given the amount of UHNW individuals we have here, they can easily afford to pay more. The concept of people being billionaires is just wrong.

I understand there is a thread tax to pay. I give you the most pampered hound of the shires.

Ach, I only paid tax a few days ago. This thread is bleeding me dry, I tell you.

Thanks for the new thread @DuncinToffee . Missed a lot of the old thread as it moved so quickly. Think Burnham is off to a good start. Small steps and mainly positive vibes. Will pay tax when I can.

It's a prophylactic. Seems to keep bad faith posters away.

I'll leave others to speculate on what mechanisms may be at play.

Maybe I'll just become one of those people living in the lap of luxury on UCs. I'll get a goat and a flat screen TV and have 17 children and a posh cat. But no tax to pay so the goat and cat remain enigmatic.

However, I submit a photo of a little bee that got stuck in my skylight, being revived with sugar water in the garden. We thought he was almost dead so were delighted when he flew off invigorated!
