Oh yes, washing drying quickly is about one of the only benefits that I DONT mind - my laundry is literally bone dry within 24 hours, if that....which is great if you've had a big clean and got loads of bedding, towels etc to get laundered....it's making it very easy to keep on top of!

All my t shirts and tops that are washed go scrunched up into a carrier bag so they DONT dry so that i have wet tops to wear. this is the ridiculousness i have to go to in this disgusting shithole.

Here they usually check the meter, the boiler and run the hot tap for a while. Then some stick the heating on to check it but not always.

I would absolutely be telling them to get stuffed if they said I had to put the heating on whilst my flat is/was sitting at 25 degrees+.....I hardly use the oven as it is currently., nevermind the heating!!

The rain we were expecting on Tues or wed isn't there any more ! What's happened ? I was hoping for at least one day rain to dsmpen down foliage /fire risk.

I had a weird double plug socket where only one worked and if you put anything in the other then it tripped the whole socket - I had one of these checks a couple of years ago and it was very handy to have as it wasn't a major issue, but a bit niggly/inconvenient at times and thankfully a very simple fix for them to sort out...I probably wouldn't have bothered my HA about it otherwise.

You hear about people renting houses or flats that haven't had the electrics checked in donkey's years and then something trips or blows up suddenly....I'd rather be safe then sorry, personally 🥴

Yeah, I hear you. They’re just so messy and the last one I had they took a socket out of the wall and half the plaster with it.

Remember the article i posted upthread about the tower block where they wouldnt let the SH tenants use the air con i thought it rang a bell. A resident posted a thread on here last year.

That’s terrible. And yet in true AIBU fashion, 31% voted she was. Shocking.

They should be made to fucking live in it

Wow, that is expensive. And to think they were called 99s cos they used to cost 99p!

Returning 99s to a cost of 99p each is in Count Binface's manifesto, a real vote winner for the good people of Clacton

the80sweregreat · Today 20:48

Love count bin face! 99s should be 99p
They buy the cones and ice cream from the wholesalers , it’s a rip off !

Apparently there’s 34 candidates for this Clacton by election

I saw this it's utterly heartbreaking and appalling.

They really should. Some people just have no idea.

ConstantlyFuriosa · Today 21:01

Another vote for Binface here, then. Except I’m not in Clacton, alas. Well, I say ‘alas’…

We’ve got a small chance of rain on Tuesday afternoon, but after that there’s none showing on the long range forecast until the 15th.

Tomorrow’s 29° has now changed to 31°.

We are now 33 for tomorrow

Does anyone else feel the saddest thing about it is....not having a summer? I normally love summer.

as one of my neighbours said, if you've got to stay in with the curtains drawn because it's too hot outside and the flats are boiling, then it might as well be winter!

JewelleryCat · Today 22:51

I wish it was winter, blanket weather!

ConstantlyFuriosa · Today 23:03

I have hated summer since I moved here so it’s just even worse than it usually is. That said, I think in some ways this relentlessness has (hopefully) made me slightly more tolerant of anything under 30 degrees!

ConstantlyFuriosa · Today 23:04

But yeah, I’m an autumn/winter gal at heart.

Me too I love Christmas

My absolute favourite holiday.

ConstantlyFuriosa · Today 23:09

With Halloween a close second! I think that’s because I grew up in the states and just have always loved it because it’s such a massive deal over there.
