Met office sometimes has lower temps forecast so I’ve started looking at that. I do think a proportion of this stress about the weather is anxiety-related. For me, for sure. So just thinking it will be a degree or so cooler helps.

I find everyone is under cooking the temperatures and it makes it very difficult for me to plan my day

So I tend to stick with AccuWeather

They are currently telling me that the air quality is going to be excellent until 6 am. A lot of good that does me.

35c here in sunny east anglia, its exhausting.

35 degrees? Where? We’re pretty cool here in the midlands now.

Suffolk and Norfolk were hot the last 2 days :(

Still hot in London. I have given up looking at the weather forecasts.
In fact, yesterday, I walked 12 k steps in the very parched park with a friend.

Adapting to the new normal as I have no choice.

It feels cooler here at the moment which is good but the breeze never comes into the house

Seeing everywhere that awful sepia colour and not green is awful. Yet people still maintain it’s only summer and the wildfires are nothing to do with climate change. The farmers are worried about crops
We do need rain so desperately

Drought has been declared in London. How can anyone deny climate change?

People do deny it. The fires are started deliberately or it’s all a con , I read it all on line. Not sure who puts it out there ! I suppose some are because of people being irresponsible, but they take so well because we haven’t had any rain and the earth is scorched.

I read that the wildfire in Suffolk could take about 20 years to heal. Drought has been declared in London? I didn’t know that

The majority of people in the comments section in the Mail Online, for whom the very idea of climate change is heresy. Apparently it's a glorious summer and anyone who disputes this is a bewetting moaner, it's the "Covid is only a cold/a govenment plot" lot who have found something else that they know far more about than people with actual qualifications and years of experience. I'm surprised that they don't recommend popping a potato into bake if you have a wildfire raging near you.

The whole of Wales has been declared a drought area, that's a country which usually has a lot of rain and is known for it's lush green fields, mountains and waterfalls. I am half Welsh and have been there more times than I can remember. Such a beautiful country; this is a crisis, we need rain so badly

The air and the heat feels different to other warmer summers. It gets hotter at 3 rather than midday and such sweaty weather too. I loved wales ( lived there for two years ) and the rain and the moisture. It felt fresh.

@Lifeomars Welsh girl here living in England and used to see our trips back as a respite from heat but in the past ten years it’s worried and upset me to see Wales being just as hot as the east and middle of England.

My mum was Welsh, born and brought up on the Gower coast, one of most beautiful places in the world as far as I am concerned. I see Wales as Land of my Mother rather than Land of my Fathers. That side of my family is Welsh back for more generations than we can count. When i was a child we went there at least once a year and I continued to do this as an adult. The family members who still live there are all Welsh speakers.

My mum mentioned that, it feels like everything has shifted, like it being hotter earlier in the year as well. It didn't used to get really hot till after the summer solstice.

No, even after 76 , the summers started later ( mid July sometimes) and not in may like this years heatwave. April and may were the rainy months .
It’s obviously changing a lot and it’ll be more Mediterranean summers I suppose:(

I’m also a fluent Welsh speaker.

Went out with an umbrella today although it was a ‘mere’ 27 but it was sunny. It def helped. I was the only umbrella holder but I’m definitely using it from here on in in the sun because I was much less sweaty. Just a normal black brolly too.

I cannot wait for everyone to have to keep their windows closed again.

The amount of noise on the development is insane. It's normally really quiet.

One of my neighbours opposite sounds like they’re watching TV in the garden every night. I suspect they’re not; they just have their TV on SO LOUD it’s ridiculous. And everyone around who also has their windows open has to listen to it until gone midnight. I can’t tell exactly who it is but I wouldn’t want to go knocking on doors anyway. But I cannot be the only one bothered by it. It’s so extraordinarily selfish.

It’s been a long summer hasn’t it. I hate the window open in the morning as the birds start up.
It’s still too hot for me and today is a bit cooler too.
