I’m sorry Jennifer , it is annoying and frustrating isn’t it. My son is the same too, so hot in his flat and sick of it all. I just hope it cools down soon for you

I have always felt frustrated the HA won't fit a shower 😕

Yep Ridiculous in this day and age. Ive seen 1960s TV dramas and comedies featuring showers FFS

Mine too. Brief bit of respite yesterday and back to boiling today. I’m so very over it. Can’t plan anything properly such as housework etc because it’s too bloody hot.

Huge, huge sympathies to those enduring this in flats. It feels inhumane.

I was watching a programme on Channel 5 earlier about the heatwave of 2003 There was a guy on there who pointed out that humans were travelling on 38c public transport and he said if they were cattle there would be prosecutions
23 years later and we are no further forward.

I was so grateful for the wind today that I just turned everything off and just had (more or less) silence for a whole day! It was amazing - but I did absolutely nothing as everytime I tried to do anything I just sweated my bits off.

i am so done! It hate this! When we do eventually get rain I think I might be in the street doing a dance!

Yesterday I felt nauseous from the heat and the day before I had a blinding headache most of the day. Joy of joys though because yesterday evening from about 8pm onwards I think was a glorious breeze coming through all the windows so I did get the temp down to 22 C and enjoyed feeling wafts of stronger breeze in certain spots in my house. Even my bedroom got down to 22 C so it was comfortable.

I’m also joining in solidarity. Yes, it was breezy yesterday but still as hot as hell. Our very well insulated house is keeping the heat in and it’s just not cooling down. I’m so tired of night after night of broken sleep. Last night the wind was so strong that you couldn’t have the windows open much due to the noise, if you close them it’s stifling.
id be optimistic if I said we’ve had about 3 hours sleep. So over this now!

Another house that retains the heat here. I have been finding that if we sleep with the bedroom windows open and curtains open, it is quite comfy, especially with a fan by the window.

When I put the washing out an hour ago, there was a blissful chill to the air. Surrey..

Blissfully cool here in Cheshire. All windows open trying to get the internal temperature down a bit before the heat starts.

Woken up with a blinding headache thanks to my heat retaining house. Pl excuse my moaning.

Near the Midlands here and it’s really uncomfortably humid/warm in the house but nice and chilly outside.

The temperature last night was actually beautiful with the fan on.

Not being able to sleep with the heat has altered my body clock though so even though it was a nice sleeping temperature I still couldn't get to sleep until about 3am, and then when the alarm went off this morning I struggled getting up and out of bed as it was the first time I had felt comfortable.

I wanted to cry because I have to get up for school, and I don't even go to school 😭

Irrational, I know. I've been doing the school run for years. I just feel like my body really needed those extra few hours in bed before the temperature creeps up and the sun blares through the windows. DS has felt the same, but it is no reason to call school off or go in late.

Yesterday we were out for a Sunday dinner and it was worse than being on holidays. We avoid sun holidays at peak times of year and opt for winter sun ie 20 degrees with a breeze.

Today I'm back to work, but wfh so I am moving around the house to avoid the sun. Currently set up in 7yo bedroom for the afternoon.

It's still 30 here today and seems to have got hotter in the last 3 hours. I have 4 AC units coming tomorrow for the upstairs rooms and kitchen diner

When is this heatwave going to end?! The weather forecast said we were due for rain at the end of the week but it's since been revised and there's now no sign of an end!

I do miss being able to wear my jeans, it’s true. I have a cat who objects as well, she refuses to come on my lap when I'm wearing summer clothes. 🤣

I get incredibly sweaty as well, which means that I end up with sore patches on my skin.

Nope. No sign of any rain , getting hotter again. Today was nice and had the fan off. Why can’t we have some rain! The heat returns to taunt us all instead.

Watching a report on Channel 4 news. Dr in an A&E says its worse than winter. Some meeting rooms in hospitals have been abandoned as unusable too hot because of the glass So much other stuff in this report.
The choice for the UK is get air con installed as standard or accept A&E will be rammed every summer

Yes. Hopefully not from eBay. Meaco restocked and it was bought by resellers almost instantly. Now on eBay for 2-3 times the retail price. Bastards.
