The heat is glorious.

My skin is glowing, and my plants are growing wonderfully.

I am glad for you, but this is a support thread for those of us who are finding it hard.

my understanding is that it’s a clear acrylic panel that covers your entire window. The hole is cut in the acrylic.

There is the most glorious cool breeze at the moment, I’ve opened all the windows on that side of the house and it’s finally dropped to 21 degrees. Heaven! Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep tonight at long last, but it’s still warmer upstairs. Stupid house.

After being on holiday where it was 27° + overnight it feels lovely so far

It was apparently still 29 today but there was a good breeze and I left my back door open. Yesterday was so entirely awful having not cooled from the day before I couldn’t face trying to vacuum-seal the place all day. Slight respite tomorrow at 28 then climbing again. No rain on the horizon until the end of next week, but even that looks like humid drizzle in 30 degree temps.

Hope everyone gets a bit of respite and has a breeze tonight.

I went to visit DM tonight and sat in her back garden with a magazine and a Ribena The difference it makes having access to a garden!!!!!!!!!!!

Up to 32 in the living room today. Adapting slowly to higher temps.

Managed a nap in that. But so hot when I woke up. I just couldn't stay awake.

Managed to get cleaning done as well.

It's cooled down to 29 now. Enjoying a coffee now it is cooler. Had a hot meal earlier so definitely adapting but the hottest part of the day is still shit and hard to function in.

Or she's using a watering can? Water from her washing up or bath water.

I'm OK with it only if I'm indoors. Outside is horrendous as south facing garden and its a heat trap

I haven't got the right kind of windows for that, but I wonder if they'll start making adapters for different type of windows.

Been sitting in a friend's gareden this evening, there was a lasting breeze, felt normal again and able to hold a rational conversation. Got in and had a quick look at the news and apparently the heat hell is going to last for most of next week, feel like weeping 😪

Im near the Midlands and it’s much cooler today. It’s currently low 20’s and the highest it will be is 26 degrees and that’s not until about 5pm tonight.

I’m so glad as yesterday was so awful that I couldn’t face another day like that.

London's 29 today. I suppose that's better than 34. I have another drink with friends in an aircon cafe planned.

Cooler here in the NW today too, with a good breeze. The problem I now have is that my neighbours have a huge silver birch tree in their garden that is shedding trillions of little papery seeds that are blowing in through all my open doors and windows, making a mess. Can’t close the doors and windows as it’s too hot. Of course I’m grateful for the tree - for all trees - but it is irritating having to constantly hoover up.

Oh, I don't care about the ban.

Water companies don't seem to be overly concerned when their mains burst.

Sprinkler on, hosepipe on, fountain on and much more.

So my update on the meaco. As far as single hose portables go, I'd say its the best you can get.

Its so much quieter than my previous portables and I haven't even used it on the actual quiet mode. Its been on the highest setting and it's still way quieter.

Its definitely more powerful. As its in my bedroom I switch it on a couple of hours before bed and its set to switch off a couple of hours after I go to sleep. Even the next day the room is cooler than the other bedrooms. Whereas with my older portables the room would heat up almost immediately when they were turned off. For that reason alone it will be cheaper to run.

I really like that I can control it from my phone.

Compared to other portables of the same power rating, the unit itself is less bulky.

It is at the higher end price wise but taking all the factors into account, I think it's worth it. I certainly don't regret buying it.

@DancingLions does it operate from a normal remote as well as a phone please? You never know these days!

Get those mesh bug nets that magnet clip round your windows. Keeps the bugs and leaves out and you can have your windows open.

Well ive been criticised on here in the past for having baths instead of showers despite the former being all the housing association will provide!! I was also told to keep the same water in the bath all day rather than refreshing it. i pay for my water too.

It's been a bit more tolerable the past few days due to the strong winds....we get some respite Sat-Wed and then back up to nearly 30 again. God, is it ever going to end!?
