Inverness is beautiful. What a location!

When was it moved to England?

Nicetosn · 21/06/2026 13:34

MaggieBsBoat · 21/06/2026 13:29

Exactly!!! OP says England. There are numerous none-England cities mentioned on this thread.

my comment is saying optimistically that the people mentioning these places are not British and therefore don’t realise that the places they are mentioning are not IN ENGLAND! If they are British then it is a bloody shame!

I imagine the op probably meant the uk and it’s not that deep. An offshoot of the “what’s the worst place in the uk” thread where loads of Scottish and Welsh places were mentioned

AndrewMountbattenWindsor · 21/06/2026 13:34

@Chemenger , it's England to them because "Im not British so the nuance is somewhat less relevant to me".Angry

@Nicetosn , OP should have said UK if she meant UK.

You’re doing that deliberately. Lovely places though.

Can I ask what do people particularly like about Salisbury? Planning a quick weekend away soon. Is there enough for small kids (3 and 6)?

I have big feelings about my nationality and cultural identity. Why don't you think before posting?

@Loub1987 ,there's not much in Salisbury for little children. The cathedral is what I liked most about Salisbury but the visit also included Stonehenge.

It has a world famous cathedral Grin. People travel from as far away as Russia just to visit it

Peppa Pig World/Paultons is nearish...

Relax. There's a parallel thread to this that is also running that asks about horrible places in the UK. It's hardly surprising if people posting on both make the assumption they were both about the UK

London
Skipton
Liverpool - a walkable city with lots to see and do. In comparison Manchester is soulless.

You mean they failed to read the thread title?

I think London is the best city in the world despite there being some steep competition. I have happy memories of a summer in Oxford. I love Suffolk and some of the towns and villages there.

Chemenger · 21/06/2026 13:58

I have great memories of school trips to Stratford upon Avon, I wonder if it is as lovely as I remember.
