She looks like she’s at death’s door with anorexia and yet she’s just kicked off a world tour.

I thought we were living in more enlightened times now and that celebrities’ ill health wouldn’t be enabled like this. If she went to any hospital she’d get admitted for malnutrition.

I don't know of many other celebs who are as skeletal as Ariana. It's not the 'norm', even among celeb types.

Yes. She's body-checking. Her behaviours are very familiar to any recovered anorexic. I really don't think anyone can deny she has an eating disorder at this point. If you're gaunt through secret illness, you don't show it off like this.

It's discussing somebody's body. No difference with someone being overweight, or "at death door with obesity"

It's ok to point out the double standards, she's not fair game because she's (too) slim.

Presumably that was her choice though.
I’m not saying that AG looks in any way healthy, or that this tour is good for her. It’s just that cancelling it would involve someone else making that decision and forcing her to against her will, and that’s where the difficulty lies.

She hosted SNL, a live sketch show, in December and absolutely nailed it. It’s really easy to forget with all the packaging surrounding her that she is a talented, funny actress. She could have had a very different and very successful career as a comedic actress. If you just went off her performance and didn’t judge her by her appearance, I wouldn’t say anything is wrong.

ultimately, you can choose not to buy a ticket to a show if you think a performer is being pressured and is getting on stage against her own best interests. This is why I skipped Britney Spears later concerts.

@IcedPurple again eating disorders are rife amongst celebs. Not everyone will look skeletal with one. Ariana is only 5ft and has a very small frame.

Yes, and if you want to discuss double standards,

She does look unhealthily thin, and that’s what this thread is about.

Funny how Kate Middleton, who is not much bigger, is being praised for her accomplishments , and losing the weight so quickly after giving birth.

Someone will be along to say 'we've lost sight of what a healthy weight is' any time now.

You'd wonder if certain substances are keeping her going at performances, since she appears to have little reserves of her own right now.

@mrsbowes she was definitely underweight in Wicked but it’s a movie so lighting and make up will make things look better.
