How is Ariana Grande allowed to keep going?

She looks like she’s at death’s door with anorexia and yet she’s just kicked off a world tour.

I thought we were living in more enlightened times now and that celebrities’ ill health wouldn’t be enabled like this. If she went to any hospital she’d get admitted for malnutrition.

They have one of the auditioners mention in f she has a "personality disorder". It's almost as if suggesting some sort of Other Thing Wrong might be too close to the bone

I think this is an absolutely brilliant video

brilliant video, but she looks so
poorly in it.

The violence couldn't help but remind me of the Manchester arena attack

Really? Why?

Lalgarh · 01/08/2026 12:03

Oh i dunno, regular pop performance marred by blood everywhere, horrific violence and several people dead

But presumably you don’t think about the Manchester bombing whenever you see violence on tv?

seems like you don’t think she should participate in such videos purely because she was the victim of a terror attack?

It does when it's Ariana Grande who has based her main show on living with memories of trauma she has witnessed

Seems like a you problem tbh

Newsenmum · 01/08/2026 18:23

people underestimate how dangerous anorexia is

Newsenmum · 01/08/2026 18:24

You are far, far more likely to die from anorexia in your 30s than being obese.

Her team have put out a statement saying she will be having a break after the tour ends, I really hope she gets the right help I can't imagine how worried her family must be.

Her team have put out a statement saying she will be having a break after the tour ends, I really hope she gets the right help I can't imagine how worried her family must be.

They’ve blamed it on the public scrutiny though, and weirdly kept saying she was healthy….not a particularly encouraging statement

The statement tells me that she is very deep on the grip of her ED, and that she’s unlikely to seek treatment for it at this point sadly.

Having an ED is like having a parasite inside you, it’s killing you, and others can see this, but you will protect and defend that parasite no matter what, even (tragically) if it kills you to do so.

Anyone around her that is a threat to it, will be fired, kept away, rejected. No one around her will be permitted to speak freely or honestly about what is right in front of them.

She has consented to stop working for a while after this tour ends, that probably felt like a relief and a win to those around her who are forced to deny and hide their concern. But the statement, which she will have had a hand in its wording, says that while she may have agreed to a break, she does NOT have any intention to seek help for her physical and mental health and how dare any one even suggest she needs to.

She may hope that by being out of the public gaze, the threat to the ED of public scrutiny will stop - if people can’t see her they’ll stop talking about it - to

But out of sight does not equal out of mind, this will not just all go away, the parasite will continue to feed, in private or in public, and I fear that this is not going to have a happy ending.

It’s likely that she thinks “having a break” will protect it even more.

less scrutiny on her weight, more time in a treadmill, less time around food as there won’t be the caterers and other people eating you get on tour.

it’ll be her getting some private time to focus on the ED. Time on the treadmill to burn calories without having to worry about the weakness showing, away from public eating, easier to hide.

Rinoachicken · Today 09:37

@Yetanotherone12 I agree. It’s so so sad.

I foresee a life threatening physical collapse that sees her rushed to hospital - at which point she may be compelled by her team and family, probably by legal means, to enter treatment.

Unfortunately, as this will be probably against her will (even if she consents it won’t be her choice or led by her), and not because she sees any problem or wants to get well, the prognosis for recovery will be low.

And it may be too late.

A couple of survivors have mentioned she's unusual in that she's openly publishing her "body check" selfies. That video has her ribs showing through and her collar bones have added glitter for effect. I guess she's at the point where she's mesmerized by the silhouette she's got now.

MintChocolate123 · Today 13:29

This is horrific, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the new images from her video.
