How is Ariana Grande allowed to keep going?

She looks like she’s at death’s door with anorexia and yet she’s just kicked off a world tour.

I thought we were living in more enlightened times now and that celebrities’ ill health wouldn’t be enabled like this. If she went to any hospital she’d get admitted for malnutrition.

ED are really hard. Everyone around you sees it but you get sucked into the narrative and can not speak out. The amount of times I have been worried then shot down at someone being 6.5 stone at 5,4" is normal for THEIR frame. Then you get brainwashed into that narrative.

I'm 5,4 and if weighed 6.5 stone, there would be grave concern. But it's just auntie, friend, etc who has a tiny frame so it's normal and healthy for them. Then they loose more weight and you dare not talk about it.

Maybe BMIs are OK below 16 say, but there's no reserves. You get a week say of noro or flu and your not in position to afford to not eat or be sick when already so slim.

I see it a bit differently. That she's showing off her frame, her bones as a statement of "this is what it's come to, this is where this pressure has taken me to, this is what you've pushed me to"

Agree she looks terrible. I've not really seen her in the media. I watched her in Wicked back in November so it was a shock seeing that. Doesn't look like the same person.

No one forced her to be a pop star though, or did they? It is the same with all celebrities, most of them choose to play the game for financial reasons, plenty of ways they could go off the radar if they wanted to.

I saw it and it was nebulous about the precise cause of the concerns, such that some of the comments I've seen elsewhere have concluded she's maybe on drugs and going into rehab.

BBC were more explicit about ED but again didn't directly attribute it to her.

I agree. And look how that's ended how other performers who've been surrounded by yes-men and women. Tbh I don't believe she is in anywhere near such a good and healthy place as she is making out, there'd be no need to make so much noise about it if she was truly secure and happy at this point in her life. I think she believes she is, but it feels all off, to go by what the public sees anyway.

Yes, I agree. She seems to be getting thinner as the tour goes on, she is only half way. This is really concerning.

It had been claimed that on set with her on Wicked there was this spiral of dieting going on. Im hoping she's got actual support

I actually disagree; she looked most worrisome at the beginning of the tour, quite uncomfortable to see. But since all the furore over the Petal video and her announcement that she is stepping back, I think she is looking a tiny bit healthier (of course still very thin).

I saw her on Thursday as dd1 is a mega fan. She looked very small and thin but not like the Petal video. She was very good, it is a great show.

I also think from seeing footage of the shows she looks a little better and has put on some weight. Really cheering- it’s not all or nothing, remove her from public appearances or have her die, she can make a little improvement and carry on as she is

That's good news, wonder if her circle are finally realising she may not finish the tour and actually trying to safeguard her health.

Saw her last live show a couple of days ago and I agree she looked healthier than I was expecting, not as bad as the petal video. So hopefully at a turning point 🙏show was amazing
