What can you hear right now?

I made one of these threads a few months ago and really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts so I thought I’d do another.

I’ll go first.

The faint hum of traffic on the nearby road.
Birds tweeting.
The fish tank pump.
One of my neighbours chatting to the delivery driver bringing her shopping.
Myself, eating peanut M&Ms 😳

This thread has made me close my eyes and listen. I am presently home alone and the curyains and windows are closed to keep put the heat for the time being.

A little intermittent birdsong and silence. It's wonderful.

My husband shouting at Arsenal on the tv, like the players can actually hear him

The hot water boiler, a blackbird, a plane coming into Gatwick.

Breeze through the trees

Children playing

next doors playing random music via Alexa, our kids playing in the garden and my husband deciding what to have from the Chinese takeaway menu!

The sea - the tide is on it's way in.
My son thwacking the sandcastle he just made with a baseball bat!

My cat snoring beside me.
My fan.

The faint sound of cars swishing along in the background, which I always find relaxing.

The ticking of the clock.

The sound of the puppy chewing her treat.

My kids playing in the garden with bubbles and water guns. Love hearing proper toddler belly laughter.

And

The washing machine I've just turned on.

I can hear the (actually very quiet) fan that I'm sitting in front of, a bird singing and the occasional single woof of a nearby neighbour's dog.

It's VERY quiet round here today!

It's lovely 😍

I’m sitting in the living room scrolling on MN and my partner is watching PSG v Arsenal. There’s about to be a penalty given - I think.

Birds. Neighbour over the back’s dog barking, just for a change! Someone mowing their lawn further up the street. About 15 minutes ago, the answer would’ve been the red arrows, as they flew close by on their way into a local airport after an air show.

Classic FM and some bees

My tinnitus. Which means it’s pretty quiet!
And birds.

A sodding fly. Otherwise silence.
