Which little luxuries are worth spending a bit more on?

Hi all!

As the title says - what are the little luxuries that are worth spending a bit more on for you? Just little bits that make you feel more intentional, I like a thin silk scrunchie for my hair instead of a normal hair band. It just makes me feel a bit put together.

Loose leaf tea, especially if it’s from F&M or a lovely tea shop in Bath that I always struggle to find

Cornish sea salt

Coco mademoiselle perfume

Mutti tinned tomatoes

Isle of Wight fresh tomatoes

MsAmerica · 28/05/2026 00:41

For me, no little luxuries, except occasionally food-related. To me, everything else is wasted money that could be saved for something big.

LittleMyLabyrinth · 28/05/2026 01:23

I like getting the fancy butter sometimes. The ones all in French with salt crystals.

KitTea3 · 28/05/2026 01:36

People will vehemently disagree with me but...bath products. 😳

I livw with chronic pain and quite honestly baths are a huge help with the pain, so yeah I do occasionally splash out on a lush bubble bar 😬 I mean I fairness although they are about £6 one will if I split it easily cover 6 baths. So 6 baths and the fact my pain is more manageable and the process slightly more pleasant is a price I'm willing to pay

Plus when I consider that my pain prevents me from basically having heya kind of life bar going to work, I figured others spend far more on other shit I'm not doing so it's a small price to pay for pleasure and comfort

Mattress - I bought a Harry Benmore one and I’m so so happy with it, highly recommend the company
bedding - I love cotton bedding with a wool duvet
candles and Reed diffusers
salt

mathanxiety · 28/05/2026 02:15

Soap
Candles

Elemis Marine Day Cream I think? SPF50

Only one I have ever got on with. Fortunately lots of influencers often have Elemis discount codes though 😆

I love this! It’s my treat too. I buy it when it’s 20% off. It’s soooo nice!

Awful company and ethics, bought out as did Ecover , by Johnson and Johnson
bio D far better

I didn’t know this! What a shame

Mylittlepea · 28/05/2026 05:03

Best quality vine ripened tomatoes 🍅
Salted butter
‘This Works’ candles
Liz Earle skincare (luxury to me after years of using cheap face cream)
Easyjet plus membership (feels like budget airline business class 😂) I travel to Europe a lot….

TheyGrewUp · 28/05/2026 05:19

Good quality slippers with arch support
Estee skin care
Wolsey or other branded knee highs (Not M&S or supermarket).

Empress13 · 28/05/2026 06:34

Farm shop produce
good hair products
silk pillowcases

sunsettosunrise · 28/05/2026 06:46

Massages, they really help with my tension headaches.

My Nespresso coffee. Coffee is my one vice, so don't mind paying a bit extra.

Expensive gym clothing as it motivates me.

crazytiredrn · 27/05/2026 19:28

Which ones would you recommend? I’ve tried Neom and The White Company but not impressed with either. Maybe it’s my sense of smell but I can barely smell these ones!

I have tried just about every brand of luxury candle and there is not one that lives up to expectation. I’m saving my money now and increasing my Lego stash instead .
My luxury but not little are expensive cars . I am a self confessed car snob .

Keep an eye on QVC . I use Elemis and the deals are fantastic eg they do a Christmas one day offer and you get 5 or 6 full size products including marine cream for £69.

Private 1-1 music lessons. 2 instruments for me and 1 for DD. £60 per week. You can learn yourself with books and apps but not at the same rate and level of accuracy.

dollyblue01 · 28/05/2026 07:13

A professional blow dry every Friday after work, lasts a week and makes me feel nice. I have long thick wavy hair so this saves me so much time.

Noshadelamp · 28/05/2026 07:16

Leaf tea instead of tea bags and hand wash in my bathroom.

Currently have Brew tea and Neom hand wash.

Other regulars are Sainsbury's taste the difference leaf tea, tea pig, Aesop hand wash and pears hand wash.

I completely agree. Have you tried magnesium salt baths, game changer for my chronic pain?
I use a lot of it, get it by the bucket on Amazon and use 2 cups worth in a bath.

For added luxury add half a cup of bicarb soda, softens the water and skin feels silky smooth.

Milk powder is another luxurious addition!

Love a good bath 😅

Sandysandybeaches · 28/05/2026 07:55

Nice soap.
Natural fibres.
Bone china mugs.
Comfortable cutlery.

Biffsboys · 28/05/2026 08:29

Skincare - microneedling and Medik8 products .

SaraCrewe06 · 28/05/2026 09:22

Salon hair colour. Friends have given into the grey, I’m just not ready!
L’Occitane Almond or Espa Positivity shower gel, so good after a workout.
Whoever said M and S berries is so right! No comparison to any other supermarket.
Buying a long awaited book in hardback. The new Strike is out in September and I always buy this in hardback.

ChestyPeters · 28/05/2026 09:26

High quality bedding. And I mean everything - mattress, pillows, quilt, bed linen.

Top quality garlic, not bleached shite Chinese shit from the supermarket.

Liquorice.

Body lotion for a day you want to smell nice and it last all day. Better than perfume I find.

Butter and cheese.

Personal training from a professional boxer to properly learning to box, rather than stupid 'boxercise' classes aimed at women.

Curryingfavour · 28/05/2026 09:27

Good coffee beans ( for a slightly less expensive one I recommend M&S Roast and Ritual for pricier ones I get locally roasted beans from a local cafe )
L’Occitane Shea butter hand cream ( Lidl do a fab dupe which is very good indeed but not the same ) which I ask for Christmas and birthdays .
silk pillowcases ( M&S is good enough) as my very wavy hair and my sensitive skin appreciate it .
my £50 facial moisturiser and my factor 50 facial sunscreen at £30 worth it because I know for a fact my skin will thank me by not reacting

gatorlizzie · 28/05/2026 09:27

Decent hair products .

Unless we're talking mega money, Next has fantastic bedding. Their expensive stuff is the best quality I own.

Thank you. I find it hard to get decent bedding for my small double - 4ft - bed . Not a v popular size perhaps.
