A friend thinks that it’s a ripoff but it seems like a pretty good deal to me and I’m curious to know what it would cost in your area?

12 inch pizza with two toppings. Fish and chips for one(Two pieces of fish) A portion of chips, a portion of onion rings and a 2 litre bottle of Coke?

TIA

£60 by us. 2 pizzas £25, Fish and chips £25 (2 fish @ £10 a piece) £10 the rest!
Madness but that's it.

Alex4646 · 14/05/2026 18:25

£40-45 where i live 😬

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 14/05/2026 18:27

I was thinking £30 but it may be a bit more

TheChosenTwo · 14/05/2026 18:30

Wow I think what you got was excellent value for money, would be around £40-£45 here where I am in the SE. £20 for the pizza, £15 for the fish and chips, £5 for chips, £3-5 onion rings and a couple of quid for the drink.

tiramisugelato · 14/05/2026 18:30

Around here, it would be:

12 inch pizza with two toppings - £10.65
Fish and chips for one (Two pieces of fish) - £7.90
A portion of chips - £1.90
A portion of onion rings - £3.00
A 2 litre bottle of Coke - £2

So not too far off what you were charged. We're in Cumbria.

Frogrex · 14/05/2026 18:34

£35 but I would be pressing pay whilst grumbling haha

Thanks all. There’s quite a variation. It’s amazing how much the price varies between areas. We’re not in an especially cheap area for takeaways here but not the most expensive either but I’ve only recently moved to this town so I don’t have that much experience to judge them by.

It was £24.

I think that’s really good as here just the fish and chips would be £10 and I am up North

I could get that here right now for probably around £15-£20, but only because fish and chips are stupidly expensive.

I could get a lot more takeaway for that same price, if not limited to a chip shop/chip shop food.

Safarisagoody · 14/05/2026 18:41

I’m guessing your friend doesn’t get take aways often, maybe money is tight. As that’s cheap.

That sounds like a bargain in takeaway land, takeaways are so expensive now.

Ophir · 14/05/2026 18:47

In Glasgow all the takeaways vie with each other with loads of two for one or free sides deals on uber eats I guess

but it seems really cheap to me

AlpacaTheBags · 13/05/2026 17:39

Just outside of Glasgow. My Friend lives in Glasgow and thinks that it was too expensive.

That's a good price. I'm from Glasgow and would expect it to cost more there! Was the fish good btw? I'm always looking for a good chippy 😂

That’s an insane price! I’m in Renfrewshire and we’d be around £40!!

Mumstheword1983 · 14/05/2026 19:05

That's what I would expect.

£8 pizza
£8/9 fish and chips
£3 chips

Rest seems about right.

Laurmolonlabe · 14/05/2026 19:10

£30-£35 depending on where yhou are in the country.

It was nice not the best ever but I think that you have to eat it by the sea to get the best. I only had a small piece though. I mostly ate pizza so I may not be the best judge but I enjoyed the piece that I had.

@AlpacaTheBagsI'm in East Dunbartonshire (Bishopbriggs) and that would probably have cost around £35 from our local chippy, so I think you got a bargain!

TofuTuesday · 14/05/2026 19:40

£24 is a bargain! I was thinking £36 based on local prices
