A friend thinks that it’s a ripoff but it seems like a pretty good deal to me and I’m curious to know what it would cost in your area?

12 inch pizza with two toppings. Fish and chips for one(Two pieces of fish) A portion of chips, a portion of onion rings and a 2 litre bottle of Coke?

TIA

I’m thinking close to £40

CantMakerHerThink · 13/05/2026 17:33

In the nw and here it’s £9 for fish and chips, £10 for a 12 inch pizza, £3 for 6 onion rings, £2.80 for chips and £2 for the coke.

EatingAJacketPotato · 13/05/2026 17:34

27.70 in total at our takeaway although pizza is separate from next door to the chippy- 7.50 if you collect for any pizza 🍕

Teenagerantruns · 13/05/2026 17:37

I just looked at our takewy they would be £30

AlpacaTheBags · 13/05/2026 17:37

Thanks all. There’s quite a variation. It’s amazing how much the price varies between areas. We’re not in an especially cheap area for takeaways here but not the most expensive either but I’ve only recently moved to this town so I don’t have that much experience to judge them by.

It was £24.

Local to me would be around £40.00

£24! that is good value compared to here.

For £24 here you would have got the pizza and one fish and chips, nothing else.

Roads · 13/05/2026 17:37

I would be surprised if you got much change from £40. Fish is extortionate and a large pizza is easily £10.

ETA - just seen it was £24. Bloody hell where do you live, that's a bargain!

TokyoSushi · 13/05/2026 17:38

£35

TokyoSushi · 13/05/2026 17:39

Wow!! That’s cheap!

Just outside of Glasgow. My Friend lives in Glasgow and thinks that it was too expensive.

Has your friend ordered a takeaway away in the last decade?

I'd be asking her where she orders form that means she thinks yours was expensive.

Daffodilsinthespring · 13/05/2026 17:41

£35

BunnyLake · 13/05/2026 17:41

How on earth does your friend think that’s a rip off?

Jellybunny98 · 13/05/2026 17:44

Probably about £35-40 here

That is very cheap

TheGirlWhoLived · 13/05/2026 17:45

Large pizza £14
fish and chips £12
chips £5
onion rings £6
coke £3

That makes mine £35. £24 is a bargain

Northermcharn · 13/05/2026 17:47

24 pounds?? Omg that's amazing - where I live 24 would buy you 1 chip and half a fish, with tap water

RaininSummer · 13/05/2026 17:49

About thirty quid?

RaininSummer · 13/05/2026 17:50

24 isn't actually that bad.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 13/05/2026 17:50

£35

SunnySaturdaySloth · 13/05/2026 17:51

Whatever it costs I'd rather buy some lovely healthy food for £40 or close to that.

RightSo · 13/05/2026 17:51

Around £40 give or take

Astra53 · 13/05/2026 17:52

£30 to £35

I guessed 24 before I saw you updates. I don’t live in a particularly expensive area in the north. That’s about average to me and I’d be comfortable paying that
