A friend thinks that it’s a ripoff but it seems like a pretty good deal to me and I’m curious to know what it would cost in your area?

12 inch pizza with two toppings. Fish and chips for one(Two pieces of fish) A portion of chips, a portion of onion rings and a 2 litre bottle of Coke?

TIA

Whatever it costs I'd rather buy some lovely healthy food for £40 or close to that.

Oh God I'm literally cringing for you.

Miyagi99 · 13/05/2026 18:11

£30

Just outside of Glasgow. My Friend lives in Glasgow and thinks that it was too expensive.

Absolutely ridiculous. It’s extremely cheap. Does your friend live under a rock?

Thanks all. There’s quite a variation. It’s amazing how much the price varies between areas. We’re not in an especially cheap area for takeaways here but not the most expensive either but I’ve only recently moved to this town so I don’t have that much experience to judge them by.

It was £24.

I was thinking around the £25 mark, so I think what you've paid is sensible.

Bargains

Tryagain26 · 13/05/2026 18:14

£35-40

MoonWoman69 · 13/05/2026 18:15

Always one 😂

Weeellokthen · 13/05/2026 18:15

I'm just a few miles away from Glasgow and you have yourself a bargain at £24

DoAWheelie · 13/05/2026 18:15

That would be £22 at my local. Fish is £4.50, chips are £2 a portion, onion rings are £2.50, coke is £3 and a pizza is £8.

What fish is your chippy serving for just £4.50?

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 13/05/2026 18:17

I think that's spot on op. I worked it out as £24 on the basis of getting everything together then it's not from a proper Italian, just a chippy pizza.

74username52 · 13/05/2026 18:15

Always one 😂

What do you expect from mn.
Invite them round for a bbq but they want to bring they're own farm shop meat instead of the peasanty supermarket shit 😂

No clue, but it's delicious! I get it once a week.

Where outside Glasgow? I'm really central in the middle between Glasgow and Edinburgh and there's no way I could order all that for £24. Your friend sounds deluded that she thinks thats dear!

Lifeomars · 13/05/2026 18:26

NotTheOrdinary · 13/05/2026 17:56

24 quid is a bargain.

Fish and chips where I am would be about that. I have a take away about 3 times a year, its a rare treat these days, but I do enjoy it

East Dunbartonshire.

That is a bargain. In my village it's £18 for a large fish and chips.

I'm also just outside of Glasgow and think this would be £30-35 from local places.

Right I'm moving 🤣

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 13/05/2026 18:36

So the pizza would feed 4, 2 bits of fish for 2 people, + the bits.
A t/a for 6 for £24 , wow !

TubeScreamer · 13/05/2026 18:37

That would be £35-40 here

Namechangeforthisdilemma1 · 13/05/2026 18:37

I’m in London but I guessed £42! Here it’s £30 for cod chips and onion rings….

What would you expect to pay for this takeaway order?
Dartmoorcheffy · 13/05/2026 18:40

In devon that would be at least £30.

I think that’s great. I’d expect it was part of deal but good price
