A friend thinks that it’s a ripoff but it seems like a pretty good deal to me and I’m curious to know what it would cost in your area?

12 inch pizza with two toppings. Fish and chips for one(Two pieces of fish) A portion of chips, a portion of onion rings and a 2 litre bottle of Coke?

TIA

Around £35

£15 fish and chips
£10 pizza
£3 coke
£3 portion of chips
£4 onion rings

give or take

Picklesandfrickles · 13/05/2026 18:45

😱 just seen it was £24 ! Amazing value

weebarra · 13/05/2026 18:46

My folks live in east dun and I’ve just checked their chippy which is much the same (I’m just sitting waiting for my pasta to boil). We’re in the east and it’s more expensive!

2dogsandabudgie · 13/05/2026 18:47

Where I am it would be
£15 for pizza
£17 for 2 small cod
£6 for 2 reg. Chips
£4.50 for onion rings
£2.00 for coke

£45.50

NotTheOrdinary · 13/05/2026 17:56

24 quid is a bargain.

Agreed. That is so cheap

Forty85 · 13/05/2026 18:48

About £37 pounds around here.

AhBiscuits · 13/05/2026 18:51

I think that's cheap. My guess was going to be £37.

LJ125 · 13/05/2026 18:55

Perhaps around £35?

beigetriangle · 13/05/2026 19:00

60€ where I am, unless you get lucky with a voucher

GuelderRoses · 13/05/2026 19:01

Dontbeatwat · 13/05/2026 17:28

It'd be more like £40 round here.

Same here. It's the fish that's really expensive now.

Favouritefruits · 13/05/2026 19:04

if think around
£12 for pizza
£9 for fish
£3 for cola
£4.50 for chips
£3.50 onion rings

total around £33

Just outside of Glasgow. My Friend lives in Glasgow and thinks that it was too expensive.

We are in Ayrshire but local chip shop doesn’t have 2L bottles so looked at the order including 500ml of Coke - £32.18.

TeaIsLovely · 13/05/2026 19:10

55 quid - 2 pieces of fish will set you back probably 20 quid alone!!

AlpacaTheBags · 13/05/2026 19:13

Another friend just reminded me that there were actually 3 pieces of fish in the box though the menu stated two so it was even more of a bargain than I thought.

Thanks all for your responses and no, I’ve no idea why my friend thinks it was too expensive but each to their own.

Whatever it costs I'd rather buy some lovely healthy food for £40 or close to that.

I’m just outside of Glasgow, too, and my guesstimate would’ve been well over £30. I reckon you got a good deal there!

Does she get takeaway or food out ever? Nuts to say that's expensive.

Bluebubblepig · 13/05/2026 20:03

Maybe 27

MiddleAgedDread · 13/05/2026 20:08

Local takeaway menu (very large business in a major city) says:
12” pizza at least £14.50
fish & chips (regular with 2 pieces of fish) £12.60
chips (regular) £3.80
onion rings £4.30
coke £3.99
total £39.19 without delivery (or a bag 😂)

yeah, that’s a lot, particularly when you can buy a really nice supermarket pizza for £5 and onion rings don’t exactly include any expensive ingredients!

trainboundfornowhere · 13/05/2026 20:09

I’m in salt and sauce land and here you would be talking £40-£45 if you include delivery and you wouldn’t get much change out of £40 even without delivery. I quickly added up my local prices online and it was £39.60. £24 was a good deal.

£24!! I knew it was never gonna be down south 😂

That would probably be one or the other where I am. Pizza and onion rings OR 2x fish and chips.

The delivery fees easily bump up any take away an extra fiver these days 😟

Roselilly36 · 13/05/2026 20:11

Sounds a reasonable price to me.
