We are going to Spain next month for 4 nights for a hen do.
We have been sent a message in the WhatsApp group that no white allowed except bride.
At first I thought she meant no white outfits for the night outfits (which is totally fine ) but she’s said no white at all.
No white vests /trainers /bikinis/cover ups /linen trousers etc etc
Now most of my vests I wear under jackets are white and my trainers are white.
Shes specified no white at all
So I’m gonna have to rethink loads of outfits as a lot of skirts for day time match with a white vest.
My linen trousers for pool days are also white etc
Do you think this is a bit ott?
I mean trainers …I only own white trainers 🙈

I would ignore it during the day. If anyone says anything, just say, oh these are the tops that go with my skirts. I wasn’t going to go out and by a whole new summer wardrobe. That would be mental, wouldn’t it?!

Edited

Good response.

I don't think she should get to dictate that tbh. Maybe one night out whilst on the hen do she can be the only one in white, but for the whole stay?! Nah.
Bridezilla behaviour.

Tink3rbell30 · Yesterday 17:42

You're all letting her dictate this?! You all need to tell her no and don't follow it.

Just turn up in white trainers and if she says anything just say oh sorry, and if she pushes further say say sorry when she mentioned the trainers you’d already paid for the whole trip and this was your only pair.

It’s honestly so ott
She’s forwarded us her baby pics and early years to print off and put them up at the airport bar …where we reserved a table
I’m hoping for sunshine so at least I can sun bathe

🤣🤣 she sounds bonkers, decorating the airport bar with baby pics??

I'd ignore the trainer rule, you're hardly going to go out and buy new trainers, on top of all the expense you have gone to for her abroad hen do, not to mention the actual wedding. Gosh people are self absorbed!

Oh god. Is this true!!?😀

gingercat02 · Yesterday 17:49

Holy shit @luluxxx good luck for the wedding rules. I hope she's a very very good friend cos she's fucking nuts!

Epidote · Yesterday 17:51

Next trend will be no white for a year because is my wedding and a 200 m restraining order from the groom.
The petition is ridiculous.

Epidote · Yesterday 17:53

I read the updates, can you not go? Will be that a big lost of money? Sound like you will be adoring Cleopatra for a weekend instead of having fun.

Really?! I live in my white converse in the summer 😂 my Mum always wore white trainers or sandals.
What do you wear in the summer?

My current trainers are orange (Fitflops), black (Nike), multicoloured (Hoff); my sandals are variously silver, gold, black, tan. I find Converse incredibly uncomfortable as there’s no support whatsoever. I’ve always found white trainers on adults unattractive so have never bought them

Noshadelamp · Yesterday 18:06

I can't imagine being told what I can and can't wear, especially when it's completely normal things like vest tops and trainers!

I’m a bridesmaid so it was kind of a given I was going.
Ive also paid the full amount too
It was paid in instalments so didnt seem as bad.
Tried to ask her about the trainers etc but she’s a firm no ..no white at all
Il just travel in some flats
I just thought it was so ott
i know we will all be thinking the same

What would happen if you said i appreciate you want no one wearing white but i only have white trainers and i need to wear them ?

Bloody hell.

She sounds……unhinged at worst, self-absorbed at best.

😳

Zippidydoodah · Yesterday 18:12

Oh and I’d say I only have white trainers so I WILL BE WEARING WHITE TRAINERS.

Itsnotallaboutyoulikeyouthink · Yesterday 18:19

I had I e where we were only allowed to wear black. I wore black and purple. lol

catlover123456789 · Yesterday 18:20

That's ridiculous. I understand it for nights out, but to restrict the shoes you wear? Will she be checking your knickers? I'd tell the bride either the rules are relaxed or I am not going.

Isthisasillyquestion1 · 22/04/2026 11:18

Same, I always decline these! Who do people think they are, making everyone go abroad, ridiculous

Anyone else thing guaranteed you’ve never been invited to one, or couldn’t afford to go, never mind the multiple declines been said 😂

Holidaymodeon · Yesterday 18:30

What a biotch. I was slated on here for saying I can’t stand people who dictate dress code and colours for events because of the pictures on socials but I stand by what I said.
vacuous try hard social climbing desperado cunts.

theleafandnotthetree · Yesterday 18:32

I read things like this and think we are fucking doomed as a species. And fully deserve to be.

Holidaymodeon · Yesterday 18:33

I’d take only white for every outfit including bed wear and say I misunderstood the assignment.

Tuesdayschild50 · Yesterday 18:43

I'd say I'm not following that rule if I want to wear white I will its not her wedding day... winds me up stupid hen party's ...

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · Yesterday 18:44

I'd still wear white trainers tbh. I'd almost welcome a kick off over that.

albhub · Yesterday 18:44

Fuck that.
I'd be wearing the white trainers and she can fuck right off.
I wouldn't be buying new shoes or wearing shoes that are unsuitable for whatever activities you are doing just because someone's a nutcase.

Iloveacurry · Yesterday 18:44

Is it the bride saying not to wear white or someone else? Honestly I think I would ignore this! Wear what you want.
