Hen weekend …guests can’t wear white except bride ….bit silly ?

We are going to Spain next month for 4 nights for a hen do.
We have been sent a message in the WhatsApp group that no white allowed except bride.
At first I thought she meant no white outfits for the night outfits (which is totally fine ) but she’s said no white at all.
No white vests /trainers /bikinis/cover ups /linen trousers etc etc
Now most of my vests I wear under jackets are white and my trainers are white.
Shes specified no white at all
So I’m gonna have to rethink loads of outfits as a lot of skirts for day time match with a white vest.
My linen trousers for pool days are also white etc
Do you think this is a bit ott?

That doesn’t sound ott - don’t taint the whole weekend based on the fact you want to wear your trainers (I would just wear them anyway) . It’s a bloody hard thing to organise.

If you’ve already had to pay for the trip it’s unreasonable for her to stipulate about outfits. I probably would say I couldn’t go on that basis

I am 60 on a Saturday next year, and one friend has it in her head that she needs to organise a weekend abroad. I hope they all enjoy themselves because I ain’t going! Lol.

Just tell her she’s being ridiculous, not having white trainers or little vests is beyond the pale surely!

Firstly, I’m not one of these girls or friends with a girl like this but I’m so glad that these “demands” seem to be sent via messaging because it’d be written all over my face what I thought of that demand if I was asked in person 😂 no white trainers?!
I can understand the entire white outfit but no white trainers?! Most people have white trainers that they wear in summer.
And it’s all for social media. So she’s making silly demands of the people who are actually going just to look aesthetically pleasing for… strangers on the internet?

I couldn't be friends with someone that self absorbed unless they were giving me money to buy a new wardrobe, my summer outfits are generally white top plus skirt and I would not be clothes shopping to accommodate this. Also what do baby pictures have to do with a hen do or getting married, I don't get it??

Ask her to set up a bridesmaid clothing allowance as part of the overall wedding spend so you can buy hen-night-appropriate attire. If she baulks, tell her you'll be wearing all your white stuff and don't want any complaints.

What the hell? This is just so stupid. Why on earth can't people just enjoy being with their friends without the need to brand or control them. It's so pathetic. As an adult who had paid for my own costs there is no way in hell I would be dictated to and told what I could and could not wear.
Honestly these brides and weddings we read about -it’s off the scale narcissism, selfishness and immaturity.
Oh -remember the days when you could wear what you want to a wedding, where there were children at a family event and it was fun & relaxed……
Now weddings have become something to dread rather than to be enjoyed.

That's ridiculous. My favourite summer sandals for walking in are white. I'd tell her to eff off, there's no way I'd be buying new sandals or trainers for a hen weekend.

I get the no white thing for like the main night. I've been to most hens like that or if it's a beach club the bride wears white beach wear. Never have I heard anyone stipulate no white at all and the no white trainers to even travel in is absolutely pathetic.

It's all for the gram, and all a bit crazy unless the brides actually a celeb or else who cares? Its so ridiculous to veto white accessories.
