Knitting. I don’t know anyone in real life who enjoys it.

I love it. I learnt as an adult and find it v relaxing

Blingismything · 20/04/2026 15:31

Ironing, but only linen clothing. Very satisfying.

MrsEmmelineLucas · 20/04/2026 15:34

Ironing linen is ironing A*

I love cleaning our house! I’m still in recovery from a c section, with that, and during my third trimester, I haven’t been able to clean the house the way I like, my husband has been brilliant keeping on top of things but I can’t wait to be recovered and get back to it. I put some music on and deep clean everything, it’s my peace, I love the feeling after I’ve finished and how everything looks.

Not sure if it counts but I love rearranging fridge magnets on the fridge. I just had a good reshuffle this afternoon 😂 Brought back lots of happy memories.

Cleaning out my hairbrush.
Being out on the back of our motorbike. Headphones in, singing along, taking in all the sights (and dodgy smells in the countryside!) We've found some lovely little places, going off route. Bliss!
Knitting and crotcheting. On with a big crocheted blanket at the moment for my husbands new little camper van!
Combing through both my cats fur with a nit comb! I have to show them the fur I've got off them, before I put it in the bin! They demand it!
Doing word games on my phone. On with one at the moment, which is impossible, as the amount of goes doesn't tally with the score you need! It's driving me insane, but I'm determined to beat it! Been on the same level for over a week now. Grrrr!

Unnecessaryletter · 20/04/2026 18:44

Paying bills; doing little admin tasks; updating my money spreadsheet daily. Makes me feel in control!

craycray431 · 21/04/2026 06:54

Going to weddings. Seems like no one on MN likes them. I've loved all the ones I've been to! (esp child-free ones)
Watching the news and documentaries
And as a pp commented, paying bills and admin tasks. I'm single and I feel like I'm my own little business.
My kids are older now, but I used to really like doing the school/preschool run, loved chatting to the other parents, seeing kids' friends - so many posts on MN about clique-y parents etc, but I never experienced anything like that at all.

And this may sound strange, but I like searching for old (80s-90s) tv ads on youtube. I love the nostalgia.
I also like most of my workmates and have a great boss! (though I haven't always had this so can relate to posts around horrible work places)
And drinking wine!

MrsEmmelineLucas · 21/04/2026 06:57

Yes, I enjoy weddings, especially what many on MN call "the boring bits", ie the actual ceremony. I often find it really moving in a very positive way.
I love a good news and current affairs programme.

Wedding ceremonies are lovely. The rest of it is boring as shit usually.

Yes, the 1.5 hour wait for photographs to be taken and the long, incoherent speeches are rarely a highlight.

I used to love cutting DS’s toenails when he was little! Found it very satisfying.

i used to not like being at home much but since the pandemic and some health issues I’m fine to be pottering about/mainly working from home. I still leave the house most days even if it’s for a quick walk but I don’t have that FOMO feeling anymore.

Clogblog · 21/04/2026 07:50

Based on Mumsnet - it's highly unusual that I like:

Going to weddings
Seeing my friends
Having friends to stay

I'm an introvert but it doesn't mean I can't enjoy socialising at all

MagpiePi · 21/04/2026 07:53

Putting flat pack furniture together; filling in long forms.

Elanol · 21/04/2026 08:25

Humidity

When the air is thick like treacle and you're sweaty and sticky and sliding off the chair 😁

I think you and @Arlanymor should meet up at the next local rugby match .😀

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 21/04/2026 09:19

Being in big groups of people
Train travel
Spa days and massages
Dogs
Weekends with nothing to do
Dusting
Chaos (as long as it's not permanent)

The weddings I've been to its been quite nice catching up with other guests properly while the photos are being taken. (Last one we nipped down to the local pub for a bit which was nice).
And I've never been to a wedding with long speeches - thankfully
Maybe I'm just lucky - or weird !

eggsandsourdough · 21/04/2026 12:11

Yeah for me the waiting for photos bit is great - chance to drink some fizz and catch up with friends

Most speeches are interesting and funny, never been that bored.
