Flip side of another thread.

I really enjoy ironing, I find it relaxing and satisfying.
Eating out, it's such a convivial pleasure, and no clearing up!
I really enjoy the ballet and most operas.
Going to the hairdresser's. Relaxing.

Assuming "a lot of people" means MN users: Alcohol and horse racing.

Iloveeverycat · 19/04/2026 20:34

Not going on holiday and enjoy just being at home. To me just taking time off work is a holiday. I don't need to go anywhere.

I'm the same. I enjoy travel, but I'm quite happy with time off at home as well.

Yes, I was reflecting on the other thread, really, and it gave me pause for thought.

Doing nothing.

I was reading a recent thread and people were saying it was lazy just sitting and chilling. I love it.

I don't think it's lazy. It's important just to relax and chill. I don't think people need to be busy all the time.

I couldn't agree more.

Watching rugby in the rain - there's an extra dimension of effort and more mud!

MayaPinion · 19/04/2026 20:40

I have JOMO - the joy of missing out. Every time someone on here posts about feeling sad because they weren’t invited to a wedding, a party, or a weekend away with friends I’m thinking, ‘Cor, that would be brilliant’. Not having to go to your brother in laws wedding, or mad Aunty Marge’s Country Dancing Birthday Hoedown in the function room at the bowling club in Milton Keynes, or pole dancing lessons at a hen weekend in Ibiza is my idea of heaven.

GrillaMilla · 19/04/2026 20:42

Work! It seems unusual to like work on MN

I love my job.
To add: plus I'm a teacher, which is even weirder to some!

Loving your examples! 😂

Doing laundry, particularly using the washing line 🥰

SDmdzMn · 19/04/2026 20:44

Exercise, really hardcore exercise, that leaves me feeling like I'm going to die 😅. Might be the feeling after I've got my breath back (endorphins) 🤔

I love it how they steam in cold weather.

I remember the first time I saw it and couldn't believe my eyes.

MrsDeltaB · 19/04/2026 20:48

Ironing and hoovering! As well as Vaxxing carpets! So cathartic.
