Ironing and hoovering! As well as Vaxxing carpets! So cathartic.

I think it's a real pleasure to get the results.

I like waiting.
The GP was really apologetic about keeping me waiting on Friday but to me it was half an hour, with my book, sitting quietly eating fruit gums. What a gift.

Oh yes! What's not to like about big burly men writhing about in mud?. 🤣🤣🤣

Quite! Oh and there's some skill stuff involved too apparently.... 😅

But honestly, I used to volunteer for the Carmarthen Quins and the clubhouse was caked in mud from about September to February! We'd steward the match and then they would all tramp in... it was glorious!

Nowadays I have to live vicariously through international games... but every time they leave the roof open at the Principality a bit of my heart soars as everyone around me pulls up their hoods and mutters.

People! You are getting it all wrong! The rugby slip and slide makes corner tries so much more immense!

NotMyRealAccount · 19/04/2026 20:51

Running.
Deciding what to make for dinner each day.
Classical music.

ButterYellowHair · 19/04/2026 20:51

Nothing really… I love cooking, baking, nutrition, reading. But lots of people do. I really like Brussel sprouts and all things bitter like celeriac which is less normal.

FiloPasty · 19/04/2026 20:52

Cleaning the lint out of the tumble drier, Joy I tell you!

Simonjt · 19/04/2026 20:53

Men 🤣

Cleaning grout.

GrillaMilla · 19/04/2026 20:53

😂oops

I do love gherkins so much, definitely wouldn't iron them

Not going on holiday and enjoy just being at home. To me just taking time off work is a holiday. I don't need to go anywhere.

I spent an entire year travelling. Many people’s dream… 33 countries. I was ready to go home after 3 months. Desperate by 9 months.

Livpool · 19/04/2026 20:57

I like ironing too - it’s quite soothing and mind numbing, in a good way.

I like drinking alcohol occasionally too. On Mumsnet, this makes me an alcoholic!

JumpLeadsForTwo · 19/04/2026 20:57

Meal prepping, as long as I’m left alone for a few hours whilst listening to an audiobook/ watching an easy tv series on my laptop. I love seeing the different dishes piled up in the fridge

MrsEmmelineLucas · 19/04/2026 20:59

I loved reading to my children, I never found it boring or a chore.

Silence, so many people don't seem to be able to cope without music/poscast/audio book or something wittering away. I love to have peace and quiet

I loved reading to my godgoblins. We still shout: "CHEESE!" at each other randomly now (they are 19 and 17) and I can't even remember what book that was from but I remember doing a 'voice' and it was probably about a decade ago. In fact they call my phone when they know I am busy and leave a "CHEESE" voicemail... which is fine as I call them back and say "BUTTONS FOR EYES!!!!!' I do remember that was from Coraline...

Rituelec · 19/04/2026 21:03

My own company!

Exercise, really hardcore exercise, that leaves me feeling like I'm going to die 😅. Might be the feeling after I've got my breath back (endorphins) 🤔

Me too!

Oh I love being at home too! My house is average too. I just like being at home.

TomatoSandwiches · 19/04/2026 21:05

I like biting into icecream or just ice.

I also like cleaning out the kitty litter because my Luna girl always inspects it afterwards and meows thank you, gives me headbuts 😍

HPFA · 19/04/2026 21:06

Another ironing fan here.

Wonder if it's parental influence - my mother also liked it but didn't like cooking and I'm much the same. I wouldn't want to live entirely on convenience food so I cook but the process bores me.

I've recently begun tackling the garden and finding all the stuff about it reducing anxiety quite true. I end up just looking for the next weed or checking a new plant and not thinking about anything else.

Also like jigsaws -preferably those nostalgia ones with utterly implausible twee 1950s village scenes or shops. The Gibsons catalogue should be shot into my veins.

Noseylittlemoo · 19/04/2026 21:06

I love running which I don't think is that unusual but I haven't been able to run for a few weeks due to injury. I have some pretty boring exercises from the physio that I've been doing religiously . Then my husband set his bike up on a turbo so I could use it - I don't really enjoy the activity but I realised how much I'd missed being sweaty!
I don't really like being sweaty in everyday life but love the feeling of working up a sweat from exercise!!

PauliesWalnuts · 19/04/2026 21:08

Offal! Especially lambs kidneys shallow fried with parsley, garlic and butter and piled on top of a thick slice of toasted bloomer.

Also, cycling.

piscofrisco · 19/04/2026 21:09

long distance flights. I love it. It’s like life is suspended for the 10 hours or whatever. I can watch films. And have drinks bought me. And read. And no one can get to me and I can’t solve anyone’s problems from mid air. I like it better than the holiday itself sometimes.

I too, like ironing.

I like answering my phone, even to unknown numbers.

Pizza Express.

I loved reading to my children, I never found it boring or a chore.

I would pay someone to loan me a child to read stories to.
