A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It doesn't cover my specialism, so I've not been following it in detail.

That may be one of the bills which would make the week after more feasible.

Thanks.
I can't keep up at the moment. There's so much going on. I wish he's just bloody resign and end it. What a farce.

Definitely worse still to come. I read elsewhere that the tax tax is expected to reach approx 40% by 2030. The Guardian missed that bit out I see.

Good think we have a genius economist in the treasury, and a hugely talented 'decent' PM, to provide 'stability' as we weather the storm. Confused

All in the name of 'stability', remember! 🙄

The Resolution Foundation is urging Reeves to raise taxes to cover the black hole in her fiscal plans caused by the war in Iran.

I wouldn't put it past her.

And is she blaming the Tories for the black hole she created?! She's a fucking disaster.

Didn’t the Tories start the war in Iran?

They must have done, surely!

14 years of war…

Starmer is innocent dontchaknow, because Olly didn't takes notes. 😂

Starmer February, HoC:-- I saw the vetting and it contained details on Epstein. (Gasps from his back benchers).
Also Starmer:- I didn't see the vetting, it was withheld from me so I've sacked someone.

Plaid is frothing about reform today on social media. It's getting dirtier. Labour said lots of people haven't decided yet 🙄.

They love a bit of froth. That polling must have given PC a shock. 😁
Labour thought they would win Gorton and Denton too.

Heres tomorrow's Matt. (Poor Larry! 🐈‍⬛)

Labour Isn't Working - Thread 30
DancingFerret · 22/04/2026 22:27

I wouldn't be surprised if Larry had bailed and gone in search a new home months ago.

CruCru · 22/04/2026 22:49

I think Larry is looked after by the staff, I doubt he even meets the PM.

SapphireCasino · 22/04/2026 23:06

Larry is extremely left-wing
He's probably the only person defending Starmer right now

Actually, I don't look at his x account anymore. It's too depressing.

So I am just catching up. I literally shouted "fuck off" when I read the word "prorogue".

I think everyone is just over it, but that even got a response out of me! I don't know how true it is though. Perhaps they are kite flying again.

Pacificsunshine · 22/04/2026 23:16

I wish Kemi had simply asked Starmer why he sacked Olly Robinson today in PMQs.

He would have blathered on about judgement and process.

Then she could have asked which was a worse error of judgement- making an error in procedure, or selecting Peter Mandelson in the first place.

The wrong man has list his job.

MelanzaneParmigiana · 23/04/2026 06:12

Why are people lauding ‘Olly’ as a hero? He is a time serving civil servant who lapped up the rewards (and s knighthood!!!!) for doing nothing. Now the light has been let in on how pointless they are, I hope more of them get sacked.
