What song did you walk down the aisle to?

My DD is getting married next year and we have been discussing songs for her to walk down the aisle to.

She is quite 'alternative' and not at all 'soppy' (her words not mine!) and doesn't want anything too lovey dovey.

So what did you chose and why? I may get some sneaky good ideas for her 😜

For reference when I married my DH I walked down to Chaka Khan 'Love Me Still'

Oh holy night sang by a male voice choir for our wedding 20 years ago.

We’re having Rains of Castamere for our renewal song later this year!

At My Most Beautiful (REM) which was DH's choice.

Only if you have no imagination! I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where they've played Here Comes the Bride!

Fair enough. I haven’t been to a wedding for a long time to be fair

Miranda65 · 30/03/2026 18:15

What's wrong with a good classical piece? Or at least something that's just an instrumental? Something with words is going to be very distracting or, at least, risk being soppy - which she sensibly doesn't want.
