This popped up on my FB feed, not my local area. This would be at least double the price where I live and just wondered what it would be worth in your local area ?

Check out this 3 bedroom terraced house for sale on Rightmove

3 bedroom terraced house for sale in Thompson Street West, Darlington, DL3 for £165,000. Marketed by Venture Properties, Darlington

£500-£600k
Village in Mid Sussex
Nicely done interior, good size garden, potential for extension

I sometimes wonder how and why I ended up living in one of the most expensive parts of the country 🙃

Dewbery · 25/03/2026 22:46

It’s the same layout as a Victorian terrace I sold last year for 360k, close to the sea on the South Coast. Basically one of the cheapest houses in a nice postcode area. Mine had a nicer garden though. Would be more like 280-310k in a less desirable postcode here. The north/south prices never fail to amaze me.

scoobydeedoo · 25/03/2026 22:47

Probably about £400k-£450k in the nice part of where I'm from. More like £300k in the rougher area.

What's Darlington like? Might need to move.......👀

charliehungerford · 25/03/2026 22:47

In my village probably around £400,000. Where I moved from a few years ago around £625,000. In my nearest town £325,000.

Dewbery · 25/03/2026 22:48

It’s horses for courses though isn’t it. Darlington isn’t for me.

Beula82 · 25/03/2026 22:50

Honestly, in London where I live it would be £1.-1.2 million

firstofallimadelight · 25/03/2026 22:51

Around 140-150 because it’s well decorated/ decent garden.

ZaZathecat · 25/03/2026 22:51

About 750k - London/Kent borders

ShmurpleRain · 25/03/2026 22:52

From Rightmove:

3 bed, 1 bath terrace range from:

75K - 160K

We are in a deprived low income area in the North of England.

Malinia · 25/03/2026 22:54

That would be 650k in my town

Strandlover · 25/03/2026 22:56

Jeez. I can't believe that. Is Darlington nice?

It would be around £600k in my immediate area of the London suburbs; they might hope for £650 and not quite get it. Makes me sad for our kids; how are they ever supposed to build a life here?

marginallyawake · 25/03/2026 22:59

140-160k.

Iloveacurry · 25/03/2026 23:02

About £475k West Sussex

AmyDudley · 25/03/2026 23:02

I live in a similar house, mine's not quite as nicely done up as that, I've got a bathroom and an upstairs shower room, same number of beds, similar size garden Probably about £135K. I live in a very deprived area of the country.
Location location location as they say.

Swissmeringue · 25/03/2026 23:04

Cambridge, maybe 800k, depends what part of the city it's in.

IsThistheMiddleofNowhere · 25/03/2026 23:05

Nice house. I would say about £600k in Surrey inside the M25

MassiveOvaryaction · 25/03/2026 23:06

One very similar (though the downstairs big is actually inside!) showing on Rightmove as SSTC at 585k.

purpleheartsandroses · 25/03/2026 23:06

Around £600k, Surrey.

Blinky21 · 25/03/2026 23:07

About £550k

Branleuse · 25/03/2026 23:09

300k north essex

hahabahbag · 25/03/2026 23:11

£350-375k depending on parking, type of road it’s on and how close to bus stop/new train station.

PatsFishTank · 25/03/2026 23:12

£400k - £425k NW England

Springspringspringagain · 25/03/2026 23:12

Absolutely bottom of the market £300, mid I would say £350, £375/400 in a slightly nicer area. South-West.

It's so much money, and yes, the house is nice enough, but it is a very bog-standard three bed terrace, I live in one similar right now, and whilst it's perfectly fine, it's hard to get excited about it somehow (I feel like that about my own house). That house is better decorated, nicer garden, but I just feel there's only so much you can do with that size house.

I don't want more bedrooms, just a bigger and arier living space downstairs.

Fiddlesticks357 · 25/03/2026 23:13

Thank God I live in the area, might buy it :D !! although now lots of southerners seem to be clocking on and coming up and realising how great the area is around Teesside and North Yorks (finally) but then outpricing us on houses in Saltburn, Marske, Yarm and the North York villages. Slowly bumping all the prices up around the region (its grim up in the north east and all that...)
