Would you date a bisexual man?

Seymorbutts · 14/03/2026 14:07

Just that really. A man who you believed to be genuinely bisexual, not a gay man on his way out of the closet. Someone who’d had long-term relationships with both men and women and who you’ve never known to sleep around with either men or women. If not, why would it bother you?

Oh good, an opportunity for the MN collective to express their disgust at bisexuals

Itisreallynobother · 14/03/2026 14:08

No, absolutely categorically no

FlatErica · 14/03/2026 14:08

Why not?

youalright · 14/03/2026 14:09

No

Itisreallynobother · 14/03/2026 14:10

Just like i wouldn’t date a man with children.

I don’t give a hoot re whether someone is bisexual or has children, but a potential partner? No. Just an extra bit of baggage that as a single parent in my 40s…. I can’t be arsed to deal with

TeflonMom · 14/03/2026 14:10

Yes I would

MuchTooTired · 14/03/2026 14:11

I wouldn’t, no. Can’t explain why but it’s just not my thing. To each their own obviously, but a bisexual man is not for me.

workshy46 · 14/03/2026 14:12

No , I just have anything against bisexual men just all the ones I have known have ultimately ended up with men.

Myoldbear · 14/03/2026 14:12

You look at the person, not at any category you put them in.

GoldenAppleCakes · 14/03/2026 14:13

I wouldn’t even consider it.

nameobsessed · 14/03/2026 14:15

Yes, it’s actually my preference. I think, in general ofc, bisexual men are better partners/friends than straight men.

I am biased as I’m bisexual myself but I have and would again.

QuickBlueKoala · 14/03/2026 14:17

Why on earth not? I really see no reason why I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t date a gay man, but bi- why not!

Wetdoggo · 14/03/2026 14:20

Why on Earth wouldn’t I?

bringthewashingin · 14/03/2026 14:21

No.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 14/03/2026 14:21

I would. I'm bi myself. Doesn't bother me at all.

Well presumably a gay man wouldn’t want to date you

CosyPombear · 14/03/2026 14:23

No. I’ve heard of too many women completely convinced their husband is bi-sexual but later down the line they come out as gay. Massive shock to them, friends, family etc….

Megifer · 14/03/2026 14:23

Im bi but wouldnt have ever dated a bi man, same as im not into men with facial hair or blonde hair.

Itisreallynobother · 14/03/2026 14:24

You have heard of this in RL many times @CosyPombear ??!

Kingdomofsleep · 14/03/2026 14:25

People can be exclusionary as they like with who they choose to date. It's not like discriminating in the workplace.

PGmicstand · 14/03/2026 14:26

Yes, probably. As long as he was "my type" I regards to all other factors.

Ding ding ding

A few people will respectfully say 'The idea of being with a man who is attracted to and has been with other men turns me off because the idea weirds me out a bit, which I cant fully explain, just isn't for me'

But then loads of people making shitty comments about how the bi men they know are actually porn addicts, secretly gay, cheat on their wives and therefore they are all like that... oh and woe betide anyone who realises when they are an adult that they are bi and TELLS PEOPLE, especially if they are (horror) in a monogamous relationship with an opposite sex partner! They are clearly a massive attention seeker who is planning on cheating because my old neighbours husband did this then cheated on her so they are all like that!!!!

Honestly, people are really... sheltered? Stupid? About bisexuality.

crackofdoom · 14/03/2026 14:28

I would actively prefer one. Less likely to be caught up in any toxic masculinity nonsense.

StormyLandCloud · 14/03/2026 14:32

It wouldn’t bother me at all, it takes all sorts!

InconvenientlyMaterial · 14/03/2026 14:35

Why on earth not?

Hetero men have hardly covered themselves in glory, if you look at thread after thread on the relationship board here.
