I'm no fan of Donald Trump, but..

TheFilliesWillRiseAgain · 01/03/2026 10:34

I'm no fan of Trump but imagine if Biden or Harris had won the 2024 election:

Maduro would still be destroying Venezuela

The Ayatollah would still be killing his own people in Iran

Iran would still have nuclear weapons

There would probably still be Israeli hostages in Gaza

India and Pakistan could be at war

As could Armenia and Azerbaijan; Rwanda and DRC; Egypt and Ethiopia; and Cambodia and Thailand

Russia would be in a much stronger position in Ukraine

Other NATO countries would be spending less on defence.

He's not very good domestically but that's an incredible record on foreign affairs. Let's face it: The world would be on fire if Biden or Harris had won. Trump is seen as a strong man around the world and, outside of the west, that's probably respected.

You must be joking.

Or insane.

There should never be a 'but' after a statement saying 'I'm no fan of Donald Trump'.

Their missiles have hit a girl's primary school and killed over 100 little girls.

The Trump administration has basically abandoned Ukraine. As for the fucking 'Board of Peace'. Every single unhinged despot is on that board.

I agree with people who are saying that Donald Trump's kids should be the first to be conscripted to fight in this war although I wouldn't be surprised if they had inherited his 'bone spurs' condition which allowed him to dodge the draft to fight in Vietnam.

He was elected on a platform of 'no more wars'. He's a liar as well as a paedophile.

LittleMyLabyrinth · 01/03/2026 11:57

Right, because historically the US blundering in with no plan and forcing regime change (especially in the middle east) has always gone SO well and definitely not made things worse...oh wait. 🙄

Livelovebehappy · 01/03/2026 11:56

Totally irrelevant point you’re making there……

Nope. You just clearly don't understand it.
Try looking at your comparisons again. They make no sense at all.

Indeed. And Bibi's wife and son are apparently in Miami.

I hope the women in Iran and the people in all the places you list get what one woman said she wanted this morning which was ‘to breathe in a free Iran’.

This is more about those people for me.

I agree that it should absolutely be about those people, and I absolutely hope that the people of Iran get the freedom and democracy that they have long been denied.

However, I'm not convinced that taking out the Ayatollah without appearing to have any regard for international law or indeed any sort of plan for what might come next is necessarily going to make those people's lives any better. And especially not if this action ends up triggering a war in the wider region.

... but it's OK for a country led by a man showing clear signs of dementia to have his finger on the bigly big bang button? A man who has yet again unlawfully by-passed Congress and ignored national and international law to declare war on another country, while proclaiming himself to be the leader of the "Board of Peace."

FieryA · 01/03/2026 12:00

Trump had nothing to do with India and Pakistan. That was just him making a false claim that he solved decades of strife with a phone call. Stop believing Trump's manipulation.

Go Donald - Islamic Revolutionary Guard next on the list! Anyone who shoots their own people in the streets must go!

Read this back. Go Donald.

The man is a criminal. He is a rapist. He is likely a paedophile.

Read the fucking room. Choose your words with more care. Unless of course you don't care about those crimes.

Its a bit like shouting, Go Hitler. ffs8

What do you mean?!
I thought it was going to be rainbows and unicorns now that the leader has been murdered by the US. Are you telling me it might actually be a little more complicated than that?!

Skinnysaluki · 01/03/2026 12:01

Absurd stance OP. YANBU. The world is entirely unsafe AND undergoing a climate crisis. Cheering Trump on is deluded behaviour.

TheFilliesWillRiseAgain · 01/03/2026 12:01

This is interesting.

I'm traditionally left wing and have in the past gone on right wing (ish) forums to express support for a cause or person. At one point even Jeremy Corbyn.

The result: Some stupid replies, some mocking but mostly good faith disagreements. People using facts and details to explain why they think I'm wrong.

I go on (leftish) MN to express some support for a non left wing man I've previously despised.

The result: Abuse and being told I'm stupid, with little attempt to engage in facts or details. All from people who presumably like to tell themselves that they are intelligent and kind.

I have no doubt some of you would even try to get me sacked if you knew anything more about me.

And that's probably why people like Donald Trump got elected in the first place.

Trump has lost lots of support from his MAGA base because he seems far more interested in supporting Israel and attacking other countries than he does in his own voters. I feel sorry for them.

They’ve hopefully learnt a lesson. Trump was never principled so going to war shouldn’t be a surprise for anyone.

I think even if Trump lucks out and Iranians get a better government it won’t bring him much benefit from his supporters who just want life to be better in the USA.

@XDownwiththissortofthingXplease show evidence of this sizeable proportion! I have been following Iran for years and 90% of Iranians I’ve listened to and read about oppose the regime 100%!

anyone in the world with any sense would oppose that regime. But your enemy’s enemy is not your friend as Iranians will likely find out.

The report of the school being hit hasn’t been authenticated yet. The news is coming from Iranian media outlets, and for obvious reasons we shouldn’t place out trust in anything which comes out from the still Iranian regime controlled media.

Nobody has any idea what will happen in Iran or the Middle East now, least of all the orange pedophile rapist. It’s totally unpredictable. If it all works out lovely but unfortunately this never tends to be the case in this kind of chaotic scenario.

Reuters are saying they've authenticated it, the BBC and the Graun haven't.

If it's true, it's a terrible tragedy.

DomPom47 · 01/03/2026 12:06

OP a few things for you to research: AIPAC and Greater Israel Plan. This war is not something to celebrate. It is the start of more turmoil in the Middle East which then has an impact on innocent people. As to nuclear weapons- Iran was in negotiations but trust the American to listen to their puppet masters and take action when on the negotiation table. Iran has supposedly had nuclear weapons for how many years - the same lies as Iraq having so called WMD. Anyone who celebrates what has taken place yesterday is deluded. This is not me saying the ayatollahs are great - they are not - evil, barbaric and jo place in the modern world. This does not mean the Americans should have acted with their masters and thrown the world into further crap.

We also should not trust anything that comes out from the Israeli/US/British media. They are all heavily biased, especially during a war.
Intersting that you are so keen to just dismiss reports of the attack on the school.

Your post was ill informed at best. That is why.

Go away and fact check your own post - not on GB news or the Daily Mail, or Fox News.

Assess the actual facts about Donald Trump and the facts about each country you claimed he saved. Assess the timing, the potential benefits for Donald Trump (deflection from his own criminality and the amassing of a personal fortune).

I won't do that for you because there is no point. Once a head has been turned like yours has, there is no point. It's too late.

There are quite a few facts on the thread. There are also plenty of other sources in the media to read up on all these events and the history of many of them.

MN generally hate Trump, and they are typically lefties who no doubt support the idiot Corbyn’s proposed pro Iranian march today in London. Rather be a Trump supporter a million times over than support Corbyn, who had his arse handed to him on a plate when he tried to go for government against Boris. The biggest defeat of the Labour Party in recent years.

Parker231 · 01/03/2026 12:09

Sounds like someone looking for peace?

“Trump warned in a post on Truth Social that Iran “better not” attack further on Sunday, saying: “If they do, we will hit them with a force that has never been seen before!””
