I'm no fan of Donald Trump, but..

TheFilliesWillRiseAgain · 01/03/2026 10:34

I'm no fan of Trump but imagine if Biden or Harris had won the 2024 election:

Maduro would still be destroying Venezuela

The Ayatollah would still be killing his own people in Iran

Iran would still have nuclear weapons

There would probably still be Israeli hostages in Gaza

India and Pakistan could be at war

As could Armenia and Azerbaijan; Rwanda and DRC; Egypt and Ethiopia; and Cambodia and Thailand

Russia would be in a much stronger position in Ukraine

Other NATO countries would be spending less on defence.

He's not very good domestically but that's an incredible record on foreign affairs. Let's face it: The world would be on fire if Biden or Harris had won. Trump is seen as a strong man around the world and, outside of the west, that's probably respected.

“The world would be on fire”
I think the people in the Middle East right now feel like their world is on fire and are not safe right now. I do not believe war is the answer. I think it is about control and he will be the first to say how great America are doing. Despite thousands of people including military having their lives put at risk.

CuriousKangaroo · 01/03/2026 12:11

Someone does not understand how to separate propaganda from facts, nor do they have a close enough eye on or understanding of world politics to understand how little Trump had to do with them.

I hear ignorance is bliss, OP, so presumably you are one of the happiest people on earth.

MN generally hate Trump, and they are typically lefties who no doubt support the idiot Corbyn’s proposed pro Iranian march today in London. Rather be a Trump supporter a million times over than support Corbyn, who had his arse handed to him on a plate when he tried to go for government against Boris. The biggest defeat of the Labour Party in recent years.

If you think it is only Corbyn supporters who dislike Trump, then you haven't been paying attention for the last year.

😂😂😂 what have you been taking? Im
guesding your a MAGA supporter! He’s a mad man, his bombing of Iran is illegal he didn’t got to congress to get it sanctioned! You do realise that after the 40 days of mourning a new Ayatollah will be installed! The only way to overthrow the current regime would be a military coup which isn’t going to happen! You do know this is nothing about overthrowing the current regime, but oil! No doubt you believe he’s right to want to make Greenland a US territory! Like when the US invaded Iraq, there is currently no evidence of WMD! Hilariously Trump has made himself public enemy number one to the radical Muslim community and has said where he is currently! Mar Lago will be on every terriorsts list! What ever happens to Trump he gets what he deserves!

No - I'm not 'joking'.

I just saw footage of Jews and Muslims celebrating together in London from last night and thought - could anyone else have brought that about?

I was there..the Iranian people were ecstatic - tears of joy..rejoicing...singing..dancing..cars (and buses) pounding their horns in celebration. Continued into the early hours of this morning. Took place by a huge memorial wall filled with photographs of hundreds of beautiful young people brutally murdered by the regime.
The atmosphere was electric!

I’d wager most don’t care for either.

We also should not trust anything that comes out from the Israeli/US/British media. They are all heavily biased, especially during a war.
Intersting that you are so keen to just dismiss reports of the attack on the school.

Had there been confirmed evidence of the school being hit, and children being killed, the lefty newsfeeds would be all over it. But they’re not. There’s just Luke warm reference to the reports currently. It might have happened, but always best to get the facts first isn’t it?

I’m not a leftie and I’m not brainwahed like you lot. You’re only copying your fellow low iq conspiracy theorists like maga cult calling everyone a leftie. He’s a disgrace and the Epstein lot bombing countries and making out they are heroes isn’t anything to be proud of. All of this isn’t for your benefit in the end. But keep up with name calling as that’s all you lot have got.

How the fuck do you think Biden was going to win the 2024 election when he wasn’t running??? 🤣🤣🤣

Seriously, you need to educate yourself before you publish your thoughts online. You just sound like an ill informed fool at the moment.

Biden was running until just a few weeks before the election.

agree with @WhereYouLeftIt

@TheFilliesWillRiseAgain could you in particular elaborate on India- Pakistan and Armenia- Azerbaijan wars?

HeadyLamarr · 01/03/2026 12:13

I have no doubt some of you would even try to get me sacked if you knew anything more about me.

You're talking absolute balls. No one wants you sacked, we just think you're wrong.

The drug addled rapist who believes the law doesn't apply to him currently occupying the White House isn't a friend to any nation, not even his own. He's a deranged thin-skinned narcissist who will kill, kidnap, imprison or abuse anyone based on his whims and who flatters him most recently.

If you want to credit Trump with India/Pakistan you're clearly so naïve it's not worth engaging with your other points.

DuncinToffee · 01/03/2026 12:14

I am glad Khameini is gone but that doesn't mean I agree with US and Israel bombing Iran

Iran has been planning for his succesion for some time.

This is interesting.

I'm traditionally left wing and have in the past gone on right wing (ish) forums to express support for a cause or person. At one point even Jeremy Corbyn.

The result: Some stupid replies, some mocking but mostly good faith disagreements. People using facts and details to explain why they think I'm wrong.

I go on (leftish) MN to express some support for a non left wing man I've previously despised.

The result: Abuse and being told I'm stupid, with little attempt to engage in facts or details. All from people who presumably like to tell themselves that they are intelligent and kind.

I have no doubt some of you would even try to get me sacked if you knew anything more about me.

And that's probably why people like Donald Trump got elected in the first place.

Welcome to the binary mindset of the new left. You must follow the ideology completely or you are insane / conspiracy theorist / stupid. The people that are the most vociferous about Trump couldn't name a single good thing he has done lest they be labeled far right / racist / whatever other label is the flavour of the month

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 01/03/2026 12:09

Well he’s definitely had a busy start to the year
Venezuela
starving out Cuba
bombing Iran

Wonder who’s next

Don't forget trying to grab Greenland and threatening Canada

dottiehens · 01/03/2026 12:15

Yes, and Cuba is next. We all deserve to live in freedom.

You’re as deluded as Trump! You clearly have no understanding of how fragile the Middle East is! Netanyahu is wanted for war crimes and Donny Boy is about to join him! I suggest you research Iran before making such stupid comments!

What does "traditionally left wing" even mean here?

The fact that you like both Corbyn and Trump suggests to me that you just like populist leaders who like to portray themselves as not being part of the establishment.

The Iranian people are very pleased that the US and Israel implemented attacks on Iran. They want freedom from the oppressive and cruel IR regime, but because it doesn’t fit their agenda the supposedly peace loving Pro Palestine activists, who constantly talk about human rights, can’t bring themselves to see the removal as the IR regime as a good thing. Just like none of them have come out to criticise HAMAS or the murder of thousands of Iranians over the past two months. Trump isn’t a good man, but I celebrate today with the Iranian people and hope they get the freedom and rights they so deserve.

You clearly don’t know any Iranians that actually live in Iran! Most are now terrified as there will be reprisals and there will be! Trump has just destabilised the whole of the Middle East, he’s put international workers in danger. FFS they bombed a school!

dottiehens · 01/03/2026 12:20

Nn9011 · 01/03/2026 10:52

This is the stupidest thing I've seen this month. Iran had literally just agreed to not stockpiling enriches materials, the meditators have confirmed a deal was reached. There was absolutely no cause to bomb them.
In addition to that, they bombed a SCHOOL. They killed CHILDREN. They didn't bomb a factory or arms depo, they targeted CHILDREN.

The 30.000 people killed by the regime just passed you by.

Livelovebehappy · 01/03/2026 12:20

Namingbaba · 01/03/2026 12:12

Not sure. A lot of people against the removal of the Ayatollah on here. Youv3 got to question some people’s morals when they’d rather see the man who sanctioned the killings of thousands of young people on the streets in Iran still alive than actually agree that he needed to be removed. I’m assuming their hatred of Trump outweighs their solidarity with the people of Iran who wanted to see him gone.

People celebrated after the fall of Saddam Husseins regime too and that gave birth to ISIS.

The report of the school being hit hasn’t been authenticated yet. The news is coming from Iranian media outlets, and for obvious reasons we shouldn’t place out trust in anything which comes out from the still Iranian regime controlled media.

Exactly. So many replies talk about the school being hit.

Yet that's a claim the Iranian regime made. They've lied about everything so far - the Ayatollah is alive, they've hit a US ship, they've killed multiple US soldiers. All of this is untrue.

Until someone independent has verified the school attack it shouldn't be treated as a fact. It's at least just as likely that it was hit by a misfired Iranian missile (the US and Israeli weapons seem to be far more precise, while the Iranian weaponry mostly hits residential and commercial buildings).

And where was the outrage / sympathy for the tens of thousands of mostly young people the Iranian regime allegedly massacred last month?

What's this? While it's come from Iran, it's a bit much to say they may have blown up the school themselves. Wait.

And I think there was plenty of outrage over the protest killings, I am pretty sure most of the world thought it was disgusting.
