Which one would it be? I'll go first. The Father Of The Bride house. It's just so lovely and welcoming. I imagine it would be so cozy at Christmas too... I live on my own so obviously it would be me and five cats.

I know most of you will probably say the Mrs Doubtfire house but I cannot be arsed with hills!

Baxter's apartment in The Apartment. In black and white, obviously.

MauriceTheMussel · 20/02/2026 20:56

With or without the swans?!

Hmmm, obvs Home Alone house for Christmas, Practical Magic home for autumn… let me
ponder for the other seasons

FionnulaTheCooler · 20/02/2026 20:57

The Home Alone house. I'd need a cleaner though because fuck cleaning all those rooms by yourself.

waterbobble · 20/02/2026 20:57

The Bridgerton House in Mayfair

FKAT · 20/02/2026 20:58

Steve Carell & Timotheeeee Chalommmmet's house in Beautiful Boy and Bradley Cooper's in Star is Born. I love a bit of West Coast rustic modernism. Yes I know, they are probably not ideal representations of domestic life but they are so beautiful.

FigAboutTheRules · 20/02/2026 20:58

Anne of Green Gables house.

TamarindCottage · 20/02/2026 20:58

Erica’s house in the Hamptons in “Something’s gotta give”

And tennis racket for the spaghetti?

qumquatch · 20/02/2026 20:59

Bag End in the Shire. Always.

Pemblekemble · 20/02/2026 20:59

Either the house in Home Alone or 10 Things I Hate About You. As a child I wanted to live in the apartment in 3 Men and a Baby

SeashellHouse · 20/02/2026 21:01

Oh, tied between Timothée Chalamet’s Italian villa in Call Me By Your Name and Melissa and Nick’s house in Conversations With Friends.

sweatervest · 20/02/2026 21:02

i loved lord lucan's house although probably not what you had in mind

also i LOVED the house in that ricky gervais programme when he was a moody widow journalist. i can't rememember what the programme was called but the house was gorgeous

LuckyNumberFive · 20/02/2026 21:03

The house Noah restores in The Notebook. The blue shutters and the wraparound balcony.

Or the house from Charmed.

PenelopeAsks · 20/02/2026 21:04

The beach house in Grace and Frankie. A TV series but I’m sure it’s allowed.

Arlanymor · 20/02/2026 21:04

Anywhere in Portmeirion.

CarrotSeeds · 20/02/2026 21:06

Brideshead Castle 😍

Justmuddlingalong · 20/02/2026 21:06

The Miracle on 34th Street House. The one with Richard Attenborough.

Diane Keaton’s Hampton beach house in Somethings Gotta Give.

Babsandherwabs · 20/02/2026 21:07

So many!

First thought was the house from The Family Stone.

Also the Home Alone house obviously.

Also Mrs Doubtfire particularly because I have lots of fun memories of San Francisco.

Basically any massive fuck off American house (ideally transplanted into England!)

BraveStarr · 20/02/2026 21:07

Pemberley.

deeplybaffled · 20/02/2026 21:07

The house / apartment in Big with a trampoline room and a floor piano.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 20/02/2026 21:08

If we can have series, the farmhouse from The Darling Buds Of May, or William's house in The Crimson Petal and The White, or the house on Princelet Street in Luther.

DollopOfFun · 20/02/2026 21:08

I'm firmly planted in the 90s.

I love the Home Alone house for all its grand and garish glory, BUT the scene in Mrs Doubtfire where 'she' has had the caterers bring food, and says to Miranda 'dinner is served dear' is the dining room of my reams. The warm lighting bouncing off the tableware is just perfect...sigh.

Ironfloor269 · 20/02/2026 21:08

Lorelai Gilmore’s house. I’d love to live in the whole town to be honest.
