Which one would it be? I'll go first. The Father Of The Bride house. It's just so lovely and welcoming. I imagine it would be so cozy at Christmas too... I live on my own so obviously it would be me and five cats.

I know most of you will probably say the Mrs Doubtfire house but I cannot be arsed with hills!

Not actually a film, but i want that house on the beach in Grace and Frankie. I could swim in the sea every morning.. And sit in that fabulous garden

Yes me too, beach house all the way.

Ooh I would have Poirot's London apartment. Decorated exactly the same.

The lake house from 'The Lakehouse'.

It is totally impractical, too much glass for an area that snows but so individual.

DMCWelshcakes · 21/02/2026 09:04

The house from the 2020 version of Blithe Spirit with Judi Dench in. Bloody gorgeous.

The Von Trapp house in Salzburg, the lake in front of the house is gorgeous

Caroline Wheatley’s house on The Upper Hand. Back in the early 90s with that cosy fireplace and country kitchen.

The coastal villa from About Time

I was going to say that one too. You can rent it out for a holiday - it sleeps 21 - but it's rather on the poundsy side!

one of the houses from the Piorot series (Five Little Pigs or Dead Man's Folly (actually Agatha Christie's house I think)

Yes, Greenway. You can actually stay there, but I expect it's ££££.

Greenway Apartment Devon

Stay in Agatha Christie’s former holiday home where you’ll be treated to views of the Dart Estuary.

I want to live in Green Gables

I wouldn't mind living in any of the houses Anne lives in.

Many of the houses on this thread, such as Pemberley, are too grand for me, I'd prefer something cosier. Maybe something like Aunt Betsey Trotwood's cottage. Or the Faraway Tree.

Agree 100%. I like cute and cosy, not t big and grand.
I would do anything for a slide down the slippery slip

Bigearringsbigsmile · 22/02/2026 19:31

If we can choose book houses, I want the Oakley street house from the shellseekers by rosamude pitcher. Or nancherrow from coming home.

It’s go to be a Georgian place in London - maybe the house that inspired the family home in Peter Pan.

(I checked and it was listed recently for just under £12m 😭)

If you’re ever near the Barbican you can see the exterior of the lovely art deco building that they used in the programme. It’s quite near a plague pit! Mind you, where in London isn’t to be honest?!

To The Manor Born......no, not the manor itself but the Old Lodge that Audrey moved to after selling the manor. The Lodge was the perfect size to live in. 😍
