Just that. Interested to see if anyone says what I'm thinking...

Awww, dont say that. I went as small child and was absolutely entranced by it. I've always wanted to go back. But also rather afraid it will be overrun by tourists and a big disappointment.

I loved Mont St Michel even with tourists. Would love to stay on there one day or go really early in the morning.

NazMedusa · 26/01/2026 19:41

Stone Henge and Whitstable. Dull as dish water...

Maxstress3 · 26/01/2026 19:43

Morecambe- so dead and boring

Yeah, I loved geography in school, always found it fascinating. Saw the geysers, I just wasn’t blown away…🤣🤣 s’cuse the little pun. I think I just had it built up
in my head to be so much more, so I was let down. Oh well…

i think it depends hugely on what you can do. I’d listened to stories and legends by brilliant guides (teacher) sat in thermal swimming pools with the kids gently lobbing snowballs at us, ridden very small horses, cooked eggs in hot pools. Found it fascinating. But and it’s a huge but, we were so lucky, travelled there before it became so commercial and expensive. £25 for a bowl of soup is ridiculous.

MinnieMountain · 26/01/2026 19:44

I like Baden-Baden. It's quiet though. You've got to like spas and gentle hills. Last time I was there I met an Austrian woman who was very happy to live there.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 26/01/2026 19:44

Years ago.

Carlisle and Buxton.

Carlisle was like being in the dead zone.
Besides the architecture, Buxton didn't seem to have a lot going for it either.

Peachandpassionfruit · 26/01/2026 19:45

Have to agree with Lanzarote. It’s fine for a fly and flop if you’re desperate for winter heat but it’s so bloody windy all the time. We hired a car and saw pretty much everything there is to see in two days.
Was bored in Malta too and Dubai is utterly soulless.

Mandemikc · 26/01/2026 19:46

If you mean alone, then anywhere with people. Humans are the worst; spending, gluttony, and over-indulgence.

With someone, see above. 🤣

I cure boredom with peace and nature. Camping is an easy W. Removing humanity from my holidays is essential for quality me time. I am addicted to my own company. Anyplace with a lot of humans and canned American style entertainment has me wanting to shoot myself.

Now that really is a you problem. There are all sorts of things you can accuse Berlin of - dirty, yup, rude locals, absolutely, filthy weather in February, very much so. But it is not, and has never been, bland and boring. It’s true that it’s not the right holiday for certain kinds of people though. Whenever people criticize Berlin we suggest they fuck off to Munich where things are a bit more toy-towny.

we loved Berlin....authentic food, friendly people, we just wanted to experience the real 'Berlin' and we did. Places to visit...

Mylittlepea · 26/01/2026 19:47

Worthing. What a shithole!

Bicester Village is a portal into the very jaws of Hell.

I think of it as a suburb of Dubai in a fake 'English village' film set.

Agree!

I think I must be quite boring as I've enjoyed holidays to quite a lot of the places on this thread!

I think I would find Dubai very boring though.

Any live football game

Oh god yes!

MrPickles73 · 26/01/2026 19:50

another vote for Milton Keynes

Somersetbaker · 26/01/2026 19:51

Dubai. What you get if you've got lots of money and no taste. It could have been the the most amazing city, instead it's a load of willy waving about how my sky-scraper is bigger and has more glass than yours, whilst forgetting the enormous fire risk.

Monster6 · 26/01/2026 19:52

New Zealand. Like Scotland 30 yrs ago. Provincial, dull and drizzly.

Alhambra

Any football stadium
Swathes of SE London

Alhambra. Seen one tile you’ve seen them all 😱

ShergarAgain · 26/01/2026 19:56

The Isle of Wight. Hated it on a school trip (particularly Osbourne House, where I damned nearly died of boredom at the age of 11). Returned against my better judgement as an adult, and if anything it was duller AND rained relentlessly. Never, ever again.

Newport, Wales

You can say a lot of things about Newport, but it's not boring 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Obergurgle in Austria, after 7.30 it was dead. Also everyone smoked.

Harold Steptoe was going to go there.
🤣

Oh I liked Worthing.

CATomas · 26/01/2026 20:09

A casino. Any casino. Watching people throw money into machines hoping for a miracle. Hate those places. Got stuck in one for hours waiting for a shuttle to the airport (we were there for a reunion) and I thought I would go stark raving mad.

Luxembourg. Blink and you would have missed it

It seems like a very long time when you can’t find your way out.
In my defence it was pre satnav days.
