@Blarn sainsburys have Doux De Montagne on offer £2.50 I’ve just stocked up, makes the finest cheese toastie ever. ❤️❤️🐷🐷

Current cheeses count in the fridge is 21. But some of those are just cooking cheeses, so don't really count.

(That's what I am telling myself)

I have 30. 'Accidentally' bought 3 more in Booths earlier!

I usually go to Borough Market and feel like I should be grateful for spending a fortune on cheese! This year I have just bought 4 from M&S
Plus a bottle of port 😄

I was at Borough Market for my Christmas cheese yesterday. I will not say how much I spent. It was totally rammed.

We are also in Yorkshire and we have a combination of Irish cheeses and Yorkshire cheeses. There’s only 5 of us tomorrow and only one real cheese lover. He will have turned to to a cheese ball by Boxing Day, but he’ll be happy. Enjoy your cheese!

I live with the sort of people who don't appreciate cheese which whiff, pongs, of tries to ooze out of the fridge. My most exciting cheese purchase is one of these.

@Blarn @TheChosenTwo I snagged one of these at Iceland a couple weeks ago! I also bought it for childhood nostalgia reasons.

Well I'm going to get some of that! I may be on my own for a couple of days next week and if I am I plan to have the cheeses I want for every meal, with jo one complaining about the smell in the fridge!

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Cheeses Day.

Going to start with breakfast - figs, goats' cheese and pomegranate molasses. If that's not enough because the figs are tiny, there's a couple of bagels left to toast and top with cream cheese, tomato and basil (there wasn't any ricotta in the shop yesterday evening), lemon, olive oil and pepper.

Lunch will be a massive salad plate of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, spring onions, olives, grapes, cherries, pickles and a selection from assorted blues, cheddar, whatever Brie or Camembert DP picked up last minute with some GF crackers and spicy plum chutney and quince preserve (and piccalilli for DP).

Dinner is undetermined as yet.

But hot mince pies with a square of cheese under the lids will definitely be happening.

CalzoneOnLegs · 25/12/2025 22:08

@Blarn its an alpine cheese, very fresh and non smelly and actually quite ‘bland’ but in a mozzarella creamy way, cheese doesnt always have to be strong tasting does it ? But it’s got such perfect ‘meltability’ and no greasy film like you get with say a cheddar, makes a grand toasty ❤️ I hope you like it !

Minjou · 25/12/2025 23:46

Instead of dessert, I ate a piece of Delice de Bourgogne (that I had to actually get smuggled in from.thw south of France) the size of my head.

Fecking LUSH.

Posts like these remind me how not posh I am. We have cheddar, Brie and Wensleydale with cranberries.

Fliesinmyeyes · 28/12/2025 01:27

I bought:
1 bag Aldi 250g grated cheddar
1 block 300g vintage cheddar
1 Boursin

Cost £6.85 total
