If you're in Yorkshire get the'sen over!

Now salivating for some Baked Camembert, with slithers of Garlic, Thyme, Rosemary and anointed with Truffle oil. To be accompanied with (largely ignored), Crudités, Cornichons and yummy Fresh, Baguette. I damn you @BootMaker! Sleep will now never darken my night - as l dribble onto the cat; who is already perturbed because the dipping of his tail into my bedside glass of water in that happy semi dream space between thinking I have delicious squishy, melted Cheese followed by awful reality and pissed off Cat - who has Celia Hammond on speed dial.

Sadly not, but thanks. I will treat myself to a cheese platter and raise a cracker to my fellow cheese lovers! one day, I shall stumble upon a cheese loving local new friend!

Regressing to kittenhood, and plotting how to get their paws on the butter.

Gossipisgood · 22/12/2025 12:34

More fool you. You can get some lovely cheese sets from other places for a lot less.

Christmaseree · 22/12/2025 12:40

Mine was £7 but I’ve nearly finished it so I’ll buy another lot in Christmas Eve which will probably be about £12.

The point just sailed right over your head, didn't it.

I’ve got it covered

R1nt1nt1n · 22/12/2025 19:52

Wow that’s expensive! My order from our cheese shop was:-

Ford Farm Cheddar
Cornish Blue
Cricket St Thomas Camembert
Sharpham Rustic with Garlic & Chives
Rosary Ash

Quince paste
Bay tree cheeseboard chutney

£43 total

quantumbutterfly · 22/12/2025 21:07

By pure coincidence I'm watching Box Trolls, a story based in a town obsessed with cheese.

MrsCatE · 23/12/2025 10:16

@BootMaker your cat is on first stage of "I lurvve you so much I will try and mate with you!"I have to push my LittleBeast off me daily. Suddenly started about a year ago and the stare is probably the most disturbing aspect! He was also neutered by the amazing Cat Charity we adopted him from at a very young age.

Just had a little taste and can report that my Fosse Way sheep's cheese and Bath blue are delicious.

To some people a cheese is a cheese is a cheese. This is why they say "just go to Aldi" and so on. Often on S&B someone will post a lovely woollen jumper for £100 and someone will similarly say "Why pay that, just get one from Primark for £15."

I'm not rich at all, but I am mortgage-free so have a little money to play with, and I do like to support small businesses and craft businesses where I can, and for the extra money I also get something better than the bog-standard that gives me joy, so why not? I was very pleased to see a long queue outside our local butcher earlier, I'm glad they're doing well.

Same here. The butcher, cheese shop and fishmonger with long queues. I don’t want everything to be Aldi and that’s it.

I live with the sort of people who don't appreciate cheese which whiff, pongs, of tries to ooze out of the fridge. My most exciting cheese purchase is one of these.

TheChosenTwo · 24/12/2025 09:06

@Blarn my dad is French and used to bring these over for the kids when they were little - this is SUCH a nostalgic blast from the past! Where did you get it from, I’d love to get them one 😂

Although it wouldn’t be festooning my festive cheeseboard, perish the thought!!

Baby cheeses. Very appropriate.
