If you have lots of £££££, you could buy something similar to what you describe. It’s a very clever mattress topper which heats or cools, depending on how you set it. My sister and brother in law have one, they rave about it. Each person can set their own side to suit.

I remember years ago, there was a new kind of bra that came out that was soft but moulded to shape all over. It would stand up on its own. Marks had them and I bought one and tried it. It was blissfully comfortable but looked like I had 2 loo rolls stuck out in front of me. It went back. Also some sort of automatic clamp that will hold a cat still, with it's claws out the way and head still whilst you administer tablets or spot on. It would need to be a stealth clamp so is can be put in place without the cat noticing.
