I'm considering sleeping in the car with the engine running and aircon on!

I drove around for an extra 20 minutes after work today just to enjoy the air con in the car it was so nice.

In bed, upstairs, under the duvet.

It has been over 30 here for most of the day but it’s a very old house so cool inside. No fans or aircon required.

Titasaducksarse · 30/06/2025 23:41

South Wales so think it's cooler here anyway but just gone up and my bedroom is beautiful and cool. Nice breeze coming through.

Dreamstosell · 30/06/2025 23:42

In bed with my usual light duvet. It’s only around 13° outside here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

On top of my bed, not in it. 26C in my bedroom.

Makingpeace · 30/06/2025 23:47

In my bed with a sheet, 25 degrees c.

Kids are having a sleepover in youngest's bedroom as it's coolest of all their rooms. They also have sheets and the fan!

Iv been taking extra of my brown inhaler today. Keep your blue one close by just in case

Oh I know, we really need to be careful at the moment. I've upped my brown from one puff to two also over the last couple of weeks. The asthma nurse okayed it for June/July with humidity and pollen affecting me. My blue inhaler is right beside me every night, and in my pocket whenever I go out. Stay safe x

powershowerforanhour · 30/06/2025 23:53

In bed in my brushed cotton winter pyjamas with an extra blanket on top of the duvet and the windows closed. Contemplating getting up to fill a hot water bottle for my poor freezing feet, I can't sleep with cold feet.

That's why I won't sleep out their i dont want a spider crawling across my face plus id be scared of getting murdered but there's no telling him he's out their now on a Sun lounger

Edited

I tried sleeping outside a couple of years ago when it was hot, but around 1ish it started to feel a bit chilly, and noises were spooking me, so I moved back indoors.

RollScissors · 01/07/2025 00:06

In my air conditioned bedroom because a few years ago we invested in aircon for a few rooms. I feel like a smug bitch right now but I am so grateful for it

beforetherain20 · 01/07/2025 00:08

The bastard cat has decided after ignoring his cooling mat for 2 years now he wants to sleep on it
I brought it to bed for me to use

HansHolbein · 01/07/2025 00:10

@alexalisten you sound just like me with the monsters and murderers… I think we watch too much true crime!

Hope you all get some sleep tonight. It’s a tough one.

Downstairs. It’s unbearable upstairs

Spookywoods · 01/07/2025 00:49

In my bed,fan on and JRT on top of duvet. Husband at his boat today and out sailing tomorrow 😊

Are you in Oz? Son is absolutely freezing in Melbourne 🤔

businessflop25 · 01/07/2025 00:57

Funny I was just daydreaming about breaking Into Lidl and sleeping on the floor of the chiller isle!

Anonyone1 · 01/07/2025 01:49

Trying to sleep in my bedroom. Fan on, windows open - 28 degrees!
No covers. DH fast asleep, I’ve had 3 attempts at getting off to sleep but it’s not happening.
He was commenting today about how I used to love the heat, and now I can’t cope. This is perimenopause for you!

McTootsBagpipes · 01/07/2025 01:55

Currently in bed, just a sheet but I’m bloody boiling. There have been 2 mosquitos venture into the room, have squished them both, but now paranoid about being bitten as I react badly to mosquito bites.

PlantBased11 · 01/07/2025 01:58

Sorry to be smug but a weird advantage of living in a house with a thatched roof is that it's super cool in summer. On the south coast and I didn't even realise it had been a hot day till I went to put the washing out at 5. It's like a lovely cave in here 😎

HollyIvie · 01/07/2025 02:14

It's sooo hot, can't sleep. Was finally drifting off and youngest came in and scared me half to death. Hate it being this hot when trying to sleep!! Also
hate the fan blowing on me as my hair tickles my face! Urgh 30 degrees in here

Brightstar5 · 01/07/2025 02:15

Toddler woke up really crying, she was SO hot, almost shaking. Brought her into our bed to keep an eye on her and cool her down. Now she’s in my spot with DH and I’m in the spare room. Not far from Heathrow where it was the hottest today. I’m not sure of the temp in our rooms but it’s stifling!

narcASD · 01/07/2025 02:26

I’ve tried to sleep in my room but it’s unbearable I’ve opened all the windows and got 2 fans on, I’ve come downstairs and my poor elderly dog is really struggling despite laying in front of a fan. roll on Wednesday when it’s about 10 degrees cooler!

Magicmushroomsauce · 01/07/2025 02:32

In bed, with a very unhappy 7 month old on top of me who was chicken pox and a temp of 39 degrees (and who’s like a radiator despite calpol). Oh and my husband is away with work. What a night for it! The fan and open window isn’t cutting it!

ChewbaccasMrs · 01/07/2025 03:10

In the bedroom on top of our bed with a fan going both sides of the bed and I have a cold wet hand towel laid over me and it is helping a bit.

But having FND,fibromyalga and going through the perimenopause is really not helping.
