Condoms in husband’s work suit

Trying to think rationally and not jump to conclusion.

Today my husband wore his work suit, that he hasn’t worn for a year. He asked me if I could check his back pockets as there was something there he couldn’t get out, and I pulled out condoms.

He giggled at the sight of them and when I asked, he said he didn’t know why they were there.

Could there any innocent explanation?

It’s the same brand that we use, so it couldn’t have been handed at an event or whatever.

Thank you

No, there isn't an reasonable explanation

Begs the question though, why did he ask you to go rooting in his pockets?

He said something was stuck there and he couldn’t reach because of the seams

I feel rubbish
Yesterday I found out my son had autism and now this, feel even worse as today is my birthday too

Giggled? How old is he? 13?

What sort of suit is it that he gets stuff stuck in the pocket and he can’t reach himself or problem solve how to get something stuck out. He sounds very immature.

Sorry you are having a rather rough week!

No advice but 💐💐💐

If he hasn't worn his work suit for more than a year does he only wear it for special events? And if so can you remember what the occasion was when he last wore it?

I would say Happy Birthday OP but it doesn't feel very appropriate when things are a bit rubbish for you at the moment.

He used to wear it to his office a few times a week.
We moved to an other office in a different area where the dress code was different so he stopped wearing it.
We moved back so he wore it again.

I believe the last few times he’s worn it was when he stayed behind for a few days in our apartment to wait for his farewell party. I was in our new house that week so we weren’t together.

If they’re the brand you use then there could be a
logical explanation.

SuperGinger · 21/05/2025 03:20

He sounds like a bit of a tool. Poor you OP what a rotten week you are having.

MissedItByThisMuch · 21/05/2025 03:34

I was all ready to say if they’re the brand you currently use I could just about imagine scenarios where this was innocent, but your latest update about when he last wore the suit doesn’t sound good.

healthybychristmas · 21/05/2025 04:52

Nothing about this sounds good, I'm afraid, and that giggle would really infuriate me. I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time.

DreamTheMoors · 21/05/2025 05:17

It sounds like he set you up to find them.
Am I reading that correctly?
If I am, he’s a huge arsehole.
If I’m not, he’s just an arsehole.

I’m sorry, OP.
Here’s to a better week next week.
Sending love from California ❤️

Horses7 · 21/05/2025 05:17

You need to talk to him - without him giggling. Sorry it’s a rotten day.

MyDeftDuck · 21/05/2025 06:11

He said something was stuck there and he couldn’t reach because of the seams………
Hmmm……..sorry but he either has huge hands OR he put the condoms there to trigger a reaction from you when he asked you to retrieve them.
Whatever his reason, it was a childish thing to do.

Highlighta · 21/05/2025 06:24

He couldn't reach into his pocket himself?

This in itself seems quite odd.

Has he been acting any differently the past year or so?
.

Koazy · 21/05/2025 06:25

Giggled? Nope.

StarsandCucoos · 21/05/2025 06:38

Was it a clumsy attempt by him to start sex? If you usually use condoms then it'll be this.

Like he thought 'I'll put a condom in the pocket and ask her to see what's in there...she'll surely be overcome with immediate lust for me'

Because I have no idea why an adult would ask another adult to go in their pocket.

UpsideDownChairs · 21/05/2025 06:39

I found condoms in my ex's suitcase when I was unpacking it from a trip - it wasn't good news. Then, thinking back, I realised that he'd had a couple of conversations with me around women flirting with him, and around going out to clubs when he was away, and he was definitely testing me, seeing how I would react (I laughed it off, I trusted him entirely at the time).

This feels like one of those testing conversations - seeing how you react to finding condoms in his suit, seeing what he thinks he'll be able to get away with.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it - or maybe there's someone at the old (now re-joined) office that he was hoping to spend time with at his leaving party?

MsJinks · 21/05/2025 06:50

I actually think it’s your birthday present - crass and not the best present (for me anyway!) but he definitely wanted you to get them out, as he would have otherwise noticed when putting the suit on and resolved dressing himself as most adults.

Koazy · 21/05/2025 06:25

Giggled? Nope.

Sounds like a nervous laugh reaction to me. When was the last time you used condoms as a couple? If it’s been a lot longer than a year you have a problem.

Lampzade · 21/05/2025 06:59

This sounds like a deliberate attempt to make you jealous .
It seems to be a weird request that he made .

Jealous of what? The fact that he's sleeping with someone else?

Not saying he is but I don't follow the logic. Assuming he did sleep with someone else why would he devise such an unusual ta-da revelation

AlertCat · 21/05/2025 07:06

Agree that giggling is a nervous reaction. A reflex at an “oh shit” moment.

@ForTealSwan I’m sorry this is happening to you. I hope there’s a reasonable explanation and things improve for you soon.

Easipeelerie · 21/05/2025 07:13

Is he also autistic? Does he sometimes do things that had a little odd?

JustMyView13 · 21/05/2025 07:13

If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

AnonWho23 · 21/05/2025 07:15

What was the use by date in the condoms?
