If she didn’t invent confessional journalism, she took it to the next level. I read her pieces in awe. Not fully abreast of the fiasco that is her private life, but when I’m at my parents’ and they have the DM out, I’m thrilled if she’s in it!

I only pay half attention to her articles. They seem to have become increasingly surreal lately. I don't whether she is writing about her life or writing a piece of fiction.

Ah I think she is wonderful. I emailed her once as she was having a rough patch after her divorce. She emailed me back and said she was a lot happier ,I was thanked for my concern which I thought was sweet of her. I would love to know who her rockstar is.

Absolutely not. That was the eye opener. I was surprised. I got off at Wakefield so didn't talk to her.

When I first started reading her column in the Mail on Sunday You magazine many years ago, and she talked about her cashmere knickers etc I used to think it was a spoof but then I was told she really DID spend loads on clothes and shop at high end places. I’ve always found her fascinating

I always think she looks terrible. She keeps gassing on about her facelift and her expensive beauty treatments but I think she must be being ripped off. I do think her column used to be quite amusing but now she doesn't really seem to have anything to talk about. That isn't totally made up or mundane.

She lives in Gainford now according to tattle life in an annexe to a vicarage. Think that's county Durham.

She’s actually quite deaf in real life, which is one reason I think she has struggled socially. (Aside from writing in lurid detail about everyone she knows for a national tabloid).

If you’re going to speak to her though ask her who the rock star is!
