I am. But I'm not a horrible person.

I lack empathy but I've learned that it isn't nice to manipulate people.

Yet I still do, only in such a way that no one can ever really accuse me of it. Because I twist my words to indicate that I have everyone's best interests at heart.

Everything I do is calculated to ensure I get my own way while maintaining a facade of good intentions

Taking you at your word that you love your kids... burning bridges for fun and callously ending relationships just to see how others react, being perceived as "overly emotional" etc. does have an impact on them.

If it's a role, wouldn't it be 'wounded innocent' rather than innocence? I make typos frequently. But if I genuinely thought I was superior, I'd check like a mad thing. The one thing I want to know is...do you have an evil pet? I have you more as the one from Danger Mouse as opposed to a James Bond Villain. If you have an evil pet , what's it called?

Do you think you might have some traits of antisocial PD? I am not sure you fit criteria for narcissistic PD, given what you have said.

It is possible of course to have some traits of a PD without having enough features for a full diagnosis.

These diagnoses are best made by a psychologist or psychiatrist who can go through the extensive questionnaires with you. You probably won’t be NHS threshold though for assessment.

The reality is when you're old no one will want to care for you and when you’ve passed no one will really care. If you really have ‘masked’ people will know eventually. If no one ever knows then you're probably not actually a narcissist.

People will have sussed you. They just haven’t let you know

My friend’s mother is a narc (gosh there’s so many around). Woman is ancient and still carrying on with her narc shenanigans. My friend wonders when will the old witch d ie and has she made a pact with the bloody devil. It’s pretty sad (but understandable) that the family hate her so much they're frustrated the old bag is still around, despite almost qualifying for a telegram from KC. It’s a sad legacy to leave.
