My shoulders pop out easily so I have to fasten mine first and put it on over my head.

Oh I’ve never tried that method. Might give it a go, though i can imagine I might get tangled up a bit. I’ve been in changing rooms where I’m literally trapped in a piece of clothing I can’t get out of.

I can't use chop sticks (probably not that unusual). I was taught how to do it and did it successfully for years. And then forgot and can't work out how to do it again.

I can't do hair. As in when my dd was little I could never do bunches or plaits beautifully (like my mum used to do) with a perfect parting and the hair even and symmetrical.

I can't iron. I've tried hard several times over the years. But it always looks worse afterwards.

Sew neatly .

I can't whistle. It just comes out as air.

tobee · 24/01/2025 20:20

Ooh yeah I can't do the YMCA actions. My dc laugh heartily at that. I have to have a little private practice first but still find it hard. Not great at The Macarena either.

Although I have tried many times I simply cannot use super glue without gluing my fingers together.

Mooosewoman · 24/01/2025 20:27

I can’t vomit.

I can't do up my bra from behind. I have to do it at the front and rotate it around to the back. I've always done it this way, and when I try to do it the grown up way I just can't 😩

Me too! I had to wear a bra from 10 and I’ve never been able to do this - but I take it off at the back…

I can’t drive, dive, touch my toes or iron.

I wish I could whistle using my fingers or play the piano.

I was once at a wedding and my mum was doing the YMCA on the dance floor and afterwards the DJ actually said something along the lines of "I don't know what letters they were but it wasn't the YMCA". 🙈🤣

Sleep all night. For the past five or more years, I always wake up after four hours, need to urinate, then I lay there for one two three or even four hours before I can get back to sleep again.

Ladyof2025 · 25/01/2025 00:25

I am unable to open a tin of anchovies without cutting my finger.

I can't belch Sad

I would go private and pay good money for Belch Enablement surgery, I can tell you.

I didn’t used to be able to either, my brother used to try and teach me. Fast forward several decades and perimenopause has indeed taught me most effectively 😐

There's a long thread about this. You aren't alone. Search for The Midnight Cuppa

I'm terrible at saying new words or names. It's like my brain tries to force me to say sounds I already know thereby ignoring letters.

I could NEVER be a chemist pronouncing all those long unusual names.

Just wondering, were you taught to read using the Look and Say method rather than the phonetic alphabet? I have the same problem.

HarpieDuJour · 29/07/2025 13:35

I can't whistle or spit. I can tie my laces, but only by making two separate loops and crossing them, then feeding one through the gap.
