There are sooo many now, I follow a few, attending premieres, being gifted all sorts. I wondered if anyone knows any- school mums, friends, acquaintances and what they're like? (Dont have to specify who!). Are they always on their phones? Do they seem happy? I cant imagine documenting all my life it's exhausting enough just living it!

I do. She has about 80k followers, so not in the realms of making lots from it. She does get deals with shops and loads of freebies.

Yes!!! 😳It gives me the creeps, and I find her whole persona very strange.

Me too! Married to a struck-off paedo teacher, estranged from family because of it, and lies about where she lives (Cotswolds my arse).
FAKE.

GettingStuffed · 12/12/2024 19:48

If you count bloggers yes I do, she's a friend from school and she seems to blog once every few weeks.

Yes, 3 boys… I’m in the SW. if it is the same one, who is the other one in town?! Passed me by!

I know exactly who you are talking about! I find really weird when I walk by her house on the way to work that I know so much about her house, her life, diet, exercise routine and if we passed each other on the pavement she wouldn’t know me from Adam! Considering she is apparently quite introverted Im surprised it doesn’t freak her out that strangers local to her know so much about her life.

SchoolDilemma17 · 12/12/2024 19:50

I know one but not well. She is not huge but gets freebies and her children have modelling gigs for brands like Next. Last time I saw her she was non stop filming at a playgroup. Only her children but it was a bit weird. She has a day job too and seems nice.

I follow a cooking mum influencer who recently got a book deal (for a cooking book). Found that very weird as her recipes are mostly weaning based and not very interesting and innovative. (Mush a carrot with some cream cheese…)

I also question some of her parenting choices eg lives in London but only speaks with her kids in her native language and says teachers can help teach English when the kid starts reception. Is very proud that her kids speak zero English before school despite living in London.

The season of goodwill to all men (or Mum influencers) is in full swing tonight!
What is the problem with you lot? So someone gets paid to take photos and videos of their daily family life and you think they are vile and self obsessed? All of them?
Easily avoided, just don't follow them and you'd barely know they exist.
I think you're all a bunch of jealous Mum non influencers! 🙄

Lol.

There are two with 80-100k followers in my town, but no one BIG time.

I honestly can't see the appeal in sharing your children with that many people, and wish some laws would hurry up and come in to it because, let's face it, it's exploitation.

Who is the other one?? I thought our little town only had one influencer!

LindorDoubleChoc · 12/12/2024 19:56

I'm glad I don't know any - or any influencers of any kind whatsoever (infact I don't recall seeing anyone I know in real life putting anything online in video format ever except for a couple of professional actors).

I pour buckets of scorn on all the "If you can't say something nice don't say anything" or "Just scroll past if it's not for you" defenders on this subject.

I mean WHY don't people get it? Do not put your children online publicly for any reason, ever. If you do - you are deserving of scrutiny! And if you choose to watch content from strangers posting their children's lives online - you need to ask yourself why you are OK with this and why don't you think it's all a bit exploitative (understatement) and going to be problematic, if not deeply damaging, years down the line for these children?

I had the misfortune of sitting next to her on a plane once. She really does think she’s famous 😂

Oh God no, nightmare. Did they take the stairs away and leave her on it like she told the whole of Tik Tok?

Ah I see she has been mentioned on here already! 🤣

She's Vile! Had to get a mention!

We are definitely talking about the same person as I’ve just found LL who is also local to me.

I’m stumped on who LL is?

Theyreallydid · 12/12/2024 20:01

I know one and she’s actually really lovely (tattle are quite mean about her though and criticise her parenting but she’s actually very honest about sometimes struggling). She’s one of the few that doesn’t seem to have had lots done to her face as well (she doesn’t need it but it’s just refreshing to see) and is very down to earth and honest about finding it hard sometimes . I like as well that she always covers her children’s faces.

You can PM me if you want, I found her looking under the 3 boys mum ‘for you’ and it suggested her but I just looked there again and she isn’t there. I hadn’t come across her before - kids are younger tho, mine are more like the other mum’s age.

AndrinaAdamosballetshoes · 12/12/2024 20:09

Thanks @CooksDryMeasure will do!

captainPugwashh · 12/12/2024 20:15

@needlesandpinsa 🤣🤣🤣 the stairs on the plane made me piss myself laughing. I've seen her video her autistic son whilst he had a meltdown in a shop and it was posted that night on TikTok. Awful

I haven’t seen that one 😂. I was flying to Belfast and really wish I’d taken my ear pods, it was not a pleasant journey. I had no idea who she was before the flight but by God I knew all about her by the time we’d landed, I’ve never met someone so self absorbed and when I saw her on Tik Tok she looks nothing like that in RL. She must use so many filters.

The “Cotswolds” sends me and my friends into hysterics - and her fake accent! It’s all just so false. But honestly, I wish more people knew about the teacher stuff, it turns my stomach seeing him in family adverts they do. I hope one day she wakes up to what happened to her and snaps out of it, but I imagine there’s too much money at play in being a picture perfect Mum.

RampantIvy · 12/12/2024 20:24

Who on earth do they influence

Gullible followers on Instagram and TikTok. I have neither and have no interest in being influenced by people who are being sponsored by companies trying to sell inferior products.

SchoolDilemma17 · 12/12/2024 20:27

Surrey mum AM of 3 with published books and mental health influencer (think she is a therapist), and sometimes writes for Grazia, was once in our local M&S shouting at one of the sons. Made me feel much better about my parenting 🤣

HealthyLiquorice · 12/12/2024 20:33

We had one recently on holiday in our hotel. She posts constantly about her son, how amazing he is, how close a bond they have. In reality, she was glued to her phone the whole time. Felt sorry for her son who was constantly seeking out other company to interact with. When he did sit next to her, she never glanced up from her phone. Saw them on the beach making 'content', and again she was glued to her phone. Why didn't she get up and play with him instead of making videos? He is home schooled and they go on several holidays a year. I watch her videos and just feel really sorry for the boy, and the lonely life he must lead. She says all they need is each other, but surely this is not healthy?

TeenLifeMum · 12/12/2024 20:34

Oh yes, she was smug and annoying. Her recent post about her dc having autism and how private education has saved them but the vat will bankrupt them was especially galling as in July she was posting images of the house they’re having built and asking for door colour suggestions. The house can only be described as “fucking massive” and a mansion. It’s hard to sympathise with her being “poor”. She’s also never worked which, I know this is controversial, I find rather dull in a person. It’s absolutely a choice if you want you live off your husband but don’t assume we’re all jealous of your dependant lifestyle.

Namechangedagain56 · 12/12/2024 20:38

There’s one on Instagram who has recently been sent a letter to her home which says the writer knows where she lives, where her kids go to school, the layout of her home, where she has her nails done etc. I’m sure this must have been really unsettling for her but the ‘influencer’ and hundreds of others doing exactly the same are up in arms about it. But the thing is she is the one that has shared this information. She hasn’t hidden this information to protect herself, her wife or their children. A new house - complete house tour! They plaster every single details of their homes, their whole lives online for literally anyone to see. I’m not defending the person who sent the letter but surely those putting all of this information online need to take some accountability when they attract this kind of attention.

One of the playground Mums makes her living by pimping out her daughters on instagram. It's revolting. She's a nasty woman in real life too. Bitches about everyone but then her "friends" bitch about get behind her back.

I avoid her. Luckily her 3 girls are not in my DDs school years so it's easy enough to do so (until she videos school sports day then posts it online etc).

Half the time I'm just as annoyed with the school - which does nothing to her videoing other kids.

Gah! Did you get the school to take it down?

Rondaheart · 12/12/2024 20:43

I met one and didn't realise until later. She was lovely, her whole family was. Only for an hour but they all seemed extremely genuine, friendly and happy. Think she's known as the Tradies Wife? They were attending something I'd organised and got stuck in.

I know of someone local who is a sort of influencer with several thousand followers, ALWAYS on her phone. Always. Looks miserable as hell in real life. But seems nice from the socials. Saw her children and husband in a park and the child kept posing /asking for photos. It felt a little weird to see, never seen a child ask for so many photos so I guess that's from having an online life, but could be she just loves photos perhaps?
