Do you have blankets downstairs?

Me and dh are polar opposites temperature wise. I'm always cold and would have the heating on full blast, he's in shorts and a t-shirt all year round at home and doesn't feel the cold.

I don't always want to be in layers. I fancy a small, warm blanket to snuggle under but ds laughed and said only old ladies do that! I'm 46!

We try to have a nice tidy lounge but I'm naturally a messy wreck so do think I'd need to get something smallish that I could fold over the back of the settee.

I crochet and have a couple of pretty blankets but the cat clicks them if I have them on my lap!

Me and DH have a woollen blanket each, plus a fleece throw and a soft cuddly one that's technically for looking at but I've used on the odd occasion. Have had the woollen ones for year and we aren't 40 yet.

I was brought up in a house where this wouldn't be allowed as my mum considered it "scruffy" and that fact means I get extra joy from using mine!

Saltedcarameltiramisucheesecake · 29/11/2024 22:02

Oooh, get that ordered, right now!

ItsMintUpNorth · 29/11/2024 22:03

Yeah we have 3 in the lounge and then a heated throw that moves between my office/the lounge/the bedroom as required!

MoleAndBadger · 29/11/2024 22:04

I would get that blanket but I would also definitely buy an electric throw. I have three and couldn't live without them.

Fuelledbylatte · 29/11/2024 22:04

Definitely of the camp 'how come you don't have them?'
Blankets in reach everywhere there's seating here, blankets on the end of each bed, summer weight blankets, cosy plug in fleece blankets...

Allmarbleslost · 29/11/2024 22:05

Several. My 14 year old is currently sitting under one - she's a far way off old.

pumpkinpillow · 29/11/2024 22:05

I have a beautiful crocheted blanket made for me by my sister for my 50th Birthday. It includes wool from our late Mother's wool collection. It is very precious and very warm.

Merrymess · 29/11/2024 22:05

Any teenager I know is often under a blanket.

MarmaladeSideDown · 29/11/2024 22:06

I have a lovely tartan throw that comes out in the winter, and another one with reindeer on it for Christmas.

Crayfishforyou · 29/11/2024 22:06

we all have our own blankets in our house. I have an electric one that the pets are trying to take from me. My cat will plonk herself onto the middle of it and miaow at me to turn it on

I have a crocheted blanket that belonged to my mum. It's very precious.

Blankets here too. Stored in a wicker basket next to my chair.
Very similar to the Debenhams ones you have linked too.
Press buy now!

I have about 4 blankets in my living room, and always have done! When they're not being used, they are folded and draped over the arms of each sofa lol

I'm early 40's by the way Smile

Scutterbug · 29/11/2024 22:08

Yes, we have four blankets in the lounge, I just counted. My DH is always cold and so are the (adult) kids when they are here.

DH currently in a jumper under a blanket. I’m in a t shirt, no blanket.

henlake7 · 29/11/2024 22:08

I couldn't be without my sofa blankets, esp given how crap my heating is.
Currently have 3 on the go. My electric blanket which me and the dogs sit on then a cosy blanket for them and another for me.
Also have one on the back of my desk chair so I can be cosy whilst on the computer.

I'm actually sad to think there are people out there living lives with no blankets at all......I feel like we should have a telethon for them or something.

fiddleleaffig · 29/11/2024 22:09

I have a heated blanket on my sofa.
My 20year old dd has also bought one for herself today. Definitely not just for the old

Fupoffyagrasshole · 29/11/2024 22:09

Haha I’ve been like this since I was 3 years old and never changed always have a blanket on the sofa

my daughter is 3.5 and she’s the same loves her comfort and we both have heated cushions

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 29/11/2024 22:09

We have loads of blankets downstairs. I thought everyone did?

betterangels · 29/11/2024 21:53

I have several. Today I brought my duvet into the living room.

Lol, I did this during the week, despite having blankets in the living room. DC and I all snuggled under it!

Blanket experts- bargainous - snug enough?

That looks amazing, I'd snatch that right up! And at that price, I'd probably order two 🤣🤣🤣

Whatthetrolley · 29/11/2024 22:12

I can currently see 3 single fluffy blankets and a beautifully soft double blanket and I have a heated throw on order, my children roll themselves up in blankets all year round whilst wearing shorts! I do hide the blankets during the summer months.

Mmmkaay · 29/11/2024 22:12

I feel naked without a blanket! The fleecy backed ones are definitely the best.

MrsPeregrine · 29/11/2024 22:13

I think a lot of people do now because they can’t afford to have the heating on. Which is pathetic really in a developed country such as ours. Is this really where we are heading? And it’s only going to get worse with the push to net zero, prices are only going to get even higher.

Imatorturedpoet · 29/11/2024 22:14

I have two blankets on the sofa, fire when I'm cold. I'm 60, but I've had blankets since my forties! My ydd lives snuggling on the sofa in a blanket and she's early twenties!

invisiblebark · 29/11/2024 22:16

Blankets all the way!

I'm 28 and have a double duvet, two blankets, and a heated throw available for use in my living room. I can't be doing the cold.
